At first I was thinking its kind of expensive for a jumperoo, and there are plenty of things on the market that do the same thing for far less. But it does break down to a play table, so IDK, it could be a decent pick if you don't plan on getting a separate activity mat and table
*Not a parent yet* -- but according to the people I know who have kids, your kid will either absolutely love it or absolutely hate it. It's not expensive, so it's probably NBD if they hate it...except that it's effing huge and takes up lots of space. So as long as you have a solid plan for what you will do if the kid hates it, then I say go for it.
Otherwise, you might see if you can borrow something similar from a friend whose kids have aged out it, and see if they like it first. Andplusalso they will probably be trying to get rid of the huge toy that their kid no longer plays with.

Eh. I didn't register for "big kid toys" like that because I didn't know what kind he'd like by then. It's a lot of clutter for something the baby can't use for a while.
That said, I'd totally buy that when the baby's old enough. Or maybe a grandparent Christmas gift.

My recommendation is to get one from craigslist or a garage sale. We got both an exersaucer and a jumperoo (one for upstairs, one for down) and together they were $60. I just cleaned with with a bit of soap and water and we were good to go.
Definitely will be using the jumpie before a year.
If I were you, I'd probably get a less expensive jumperoo if you already have an activity mat. Activity tables are not a must have, and you can find cheap ones if its something baby will like.

I'm due around Christmas so if we waited until his birthday/Christmas he would be a year old. They can use exersaucers/jumperoos before then right?
Oh sorry, I thought you were due sooner than that. Yeah, they can use it sooner than that, around 6 or 7 months I think? Until they're tall enough for their feet to be flat on the ground.

And it would give me something to hunt for on CL.
Today I realized I have not registered for any entertainment items (other than a few rattles, books & teethers) so I'm trying to think of a few "fun" things to add.
L's favorite toy mos. 3-10 was an empty plastic diet mountain dew bottle.
Same. I blame his daycare. They fill empty water bottles with beads and glitter to make sensory toys and rattles, which is great and resourceful and probably keeps tuition low. But Andy FREAKS the fuck out when he sees the recycle bin. OMGTRASH

My kids both loved the exersaucer. We also have a jumperoo, which they both loved. The fact that you can disassemble it so that he can later stand and play is awesome, imo.

I got a $100 jumperoo for $10 at a yard sale. I actually got his swing, jumperoo and walker all at yard sales $50, $10 and $10. He liked each thing for a little bit and then quit so I'm glad I didn't pay full price.
I know it will be awhile before this happens, but I do love to cook so it would be nice to plop him in that as I make dinner.
Or you know, do chores. LOL
it'll be earlier than you think. maybe 6 or 7 months? maybe earlier? i can't remember.
My daughter is 4 months and using hers. With pillows and books underneath because she's too short. And initially a towel around her middle because she was slumping forward. But she LOVES her exersaucer. If for no other reason then it has annoying music with lights and she can sit up. She's starting to HATE lying down.
Personally, more than one playmat was good for us, house is three levels so I have one upstairs and downstairs, and it would have been nice to have one in the bedroom too for when I wanted to brush my teeth. Sure they aren't hard to move but when you're balancing baby and trying not to trip over the cat and dog and tired, it's nice to have stuff already set up where you want it.
