Keirin racing at the velodrome.
Where we are paced out by a motorcycle.
Now my video ...
Josh was too busy keeping the kids from running on to the track to get a great video but this gives you an idea
I did three races, a 3K scratch race, a miss and out and the 6 lap Keirin. I got a girl at the line to come in 5/6 in the scratch race (which is just whoever crosses the finish line first wins). Then I made a tactical error in the miss and out (which is last person to cross the finish line gets pulled every lap until there are just 3 people left and then they race for 1,2,3) and I had no hope in the Keirin, I was just hoping not to get lapped by the motorcycle.
Still, the velodrome is ridiculous amounts of fun and I just can't remember the last time I had so much fun doing something so hard. My girls were at the track from 6 to 10 last night and had a great time too, which makes me happy that they don't mind coming and watching me.

Looks like you had a great race! I love Miss and Outs! The track is family and spectator friendly. Does your track ever do big events? The Dick Lane Velodrome here in Atlanta does a yearly "Pro Series" on Saturday nights once/month. Cat. 1/2 riders from all over the Southeast come--sometimes from as far away as Florida and St. Louis. A local catering company sells dinner (good food, not just hot dogs/ballgame food), they have a booth with DLV merchandise for sale, a raffle, and once/year they do a brewery night and sell beer. Pro Nights can draw a few hundred spectators.
