Prince George's christening is scheduled for Wed., Oct. 23, at the Chapel Royal at Saint James's Palace. It's a private service, but they'll likely release some photos afterward.
"The Chapel Royal, constructed by Henry VIII and decorated by Holbein, is where Princess Diana's body lay in private before her funeral. Queen Mary I's heart is buried beneath the choir-stalls of the Chapel Royal, St. James's Palace."
Prince George will wear the 2008 replica of the Queen Victoria-commissioned 1841 Honiton lace and white satin christening gown. The original is too delicate to use anymore:
babies pictured from left: Queen Elizabeth; Prince Charles; Prince William; and James, Viscount Severn (William's cousin, and the first baby to use the replica gown)
No godparents have been announced yet. Anyone want to make a guess? Typically royal babies have six - three men and three women.
My guesses are Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton, or even James Middleton, for sure. For a royal family member besides Harry, maybe the Countess of Wessex or Peter Phillips. Or maybe even Princess Beatrice. Probably one of Kate's girlfriends, and one of William's male friends. For a foreign royal, one of the Greeks (Crown Prince Pavlos, Crown Princess Marie-Chantal, or one of their older children). I don't know if William is close to any of his cousins on Diana's side. Maybe he'll wind up asking one of them.
ETA: And I saw on Twitter that there may be a photo released of the four generations - the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince George. First time since 1894 that there have been three direct heirs to the throne. Eeeee!
Queen Victoria, Edward VII, George V, and baby Edward VIII

Just her heart?? Where did the rest of her get buried??
That christening gown is out of control. But I cannot wait to see the pictures.

Westminster Abbey, next to her half-sister Queen Elizabeth I.
I had never heard about her heart being buried elsewhere, though! I saw it on Twitter today. No idea what they'd do that.

Eeeeek!
My godparent predictions are pretty much in line with yours: Pippa, Harry, Sophie Wessex, CP Pavlos, mayyyyyyybe Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton but probably a Van Cutsem, maybe another Windsor relative (Sarah Chatto?) but probably a female friend of Kate's

Prince Pavlos, Hugh van Cutsem, Lady Sarah Chatto or Viscount Linley, a friend of Kate's, a family member of Kate's, and probably another of William's family members - either one of Diana sisters or Sophie.

I'm stupidly excited for this! DH's birthday is the next day -- I just told him maybe the picture would be released on his birthday. He was underwhelmed ;-)
My God, an actual picture of Viscount Severn. He's the least photographed royal ever
He's such a cute little boy, too! I always feel bad that they don't bring him to the big events, just Lady Louise. I'm surprised he wasn't in Will and Kate's wedding party ... weren't those really little flower girls about his age?

He has some significant food allergies I think. And the Wessexes seem to really shield their kids
