Fri - 2 miles Sat - rest Sun - 14 mile duathlon which was more like 16 miles. Came in first in my age group, and possibly 2nd overall, but they didn't have the overall winners listed separately so I don't really know for sure. The race was super unorganized, lots of people got lost on the bike course or turned off early and didn't go nearly far enough so hopefully they work those things out for next year.
Friday: 3 easy miles to shake out my airplane legs. Saturday: 5k 22:37 Sunday: 22 miles @ 8:24
A few things about today's run.
1) 70* at 6:30 (cold front! Lol), but 87% humidity (omgfuckFL). Chicago will feel amazing, right? Right?!
2) DH is apparently quite cranky after 22 miles. After he was being very short w/me. I commented on his crankiness. He responded by saying that I was asking too many questions, he needed quiet, & then he jokingly told me to not even look at him. Lol A few minutes later, I asked if we had any more ice, & he replied "That's another question!" So naturally I responded with, "OK, go fuck yourself. THAT, my love, is an instructive statement." Wth, dude? Get it together! Lol
Oh. Poor husband. I've been him!! Only ON runs lol. " quit talking. Quit looking at me! I need to be alone!!"
That's why I'm besties with the half.
Yeah, I totally get it. We had a good laugh over it. It's also his first time at that distance, so I understand. I've been that person on a run. I once had to ask a girl from my running group to please shut up during a marathon. lol

clseale, maybe you can keep a jug of cranberry juice on hand...next time he acts up, just open the fridge and say, "Sir, is it your period? We have this to help out."
We were all down for the count with colds all weekend. My GymPact still needed one workout and with a family reunion out of state last weekend I already missed that long run so I was determined to do one today. Didn't make it out early and DH had to leave for business travel so all I got was noon today. Yeah, didn't finish. 6.8 of planned 8.5 and had to call DH to meet me with Gatorade. I couldn't find my emergency money to get a fluid refill and was starting to feel out of it. Decided to cut it short over power it out after he refilled me. Not worth the risk, especially since I needed my energy to keep up with DS alone.

Hope you are feeling ok
I'm totally recovered now. Just glad I stopped when I did.
Friday: 4 mile Sat 3 mile Sunday: north face challenge 1/2 marathon. I got third.
Congrats!
Does this mean you will finally update your blog one day??
Lol. I know I know! I was just thinking about this, and how I should have been blogging the entire time I was working towards this...I've been training since June, AND working through anemia...AND I started doing Tae Kwon Do as my cross training, so I definitely have things to say...I'm just so bad! At least I know I still have one faithful reader who would check-in when the big update comes I'm happy to hear you are going to this new (sounds super hard) yoga workshop gumi. That's awesome!

I did not have a good training week but luckily I am married to the kindest guy who's also an athlete so he gives me all kinds of marathon advice. I ran my virgin 16 last Sunday and actually felt okay for Monday bootcamp but after a five miler (five miles???) on Wednesday, my knees were so sore. I had to skip my Thursday four miler AND Friday eight miler--I was panicking. DH reminded me I gave myself extra weeks to train in this marathon and I have to give my legs a break when I am in pain. So today, I did my 12 miles and it was fine. My body felt good but I did honestly feel behind a bit cardiovascularly. Anyway, sorry to write a novel. This marathon training is no joke.
We traveled this weekend so it wasn't my best weekend for workouts but we did a lot of walking and I do have my HM on Sunday so probably a good time to relax it a little.

F: none S: 5 miler in the pouring cold rain. I could see my breath! It was nice and quiet though. I think it was a decent pace, but I was sans Garmin so I have no idea. S: 10 miles. Went well. Roughly 8:30 average.
'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather, to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, screaming 'Woohoo! What a ride!' So every day is a holiday and every meal a feast."
