We got nothing too. I was only annoyed because my realtor went out of her way at closing to say "I typically stop by the house after clients have moved in and drop off a gift." and it never happened. Why even say anything?
There was no rude thank you note. She sent a nice note saying thank you so much!! and the realtor sent back a note saying sorry it's only men's shirts.
(and responding to kevin arnold too) I misunderstood the original post. Somehow I thought "Yay!! Men's shirts only unfortunately but I figured (H) would like that gift!" was part of the text of op's original thank you note. Sorry. Sorry for accusing you of being a passive aggressive thank you note writer, janegold.
Yeah, I'm with you. For higher end properties like yours, a nice gift is standard, and to give something only one of you can use is at best thoughtless and at worst sexist. She would have been better off leaving just the champagne.
Congrats on the condo though! So excited for you guys.
If you can't get a shirt (bc you are female) then I'd return that GC on principle. And I'd consider that the high road since the tailor is acting illegally.

You are weird. And wrong.
Unless women's shirts are some kind of new protected class I'm not aware of. Poor, oppressed women's shirts. Who's going to advocate for women's shirts (especially ::looks around:: ::whispers:: the colored ones.)
I would be annoyed too. Sometimes we've gotten nothing, once we got a $50 Outback giftcard, and most recently we got half of our $500 home warranty paid for by our realtor, so that was really nice.
Would it be rude if I start including this as part of realtor interviews? Me: and finally, what is your go to thank you gift? Them: I like to leave you with the finest bottle of Mums from the nearest gas station! Me: Next.
We got a Christmas ornament and one of those Costco gift baskets that was left in the kitchen from our agent. I wasn't butthurt about it, I thought it was a nice gesture.
sorry! Picked it up when I lived overseas. Not sure what the number of syllables has to do with anything. Champers is just easier to type. I don't say it out loud.
I'd be really annoyed. The implications are offensive. But I have a THING about leaving people out. It happens to me all the time; even when I know it's not personal, it still stings.
