ok, so I have the email address jane.smith @ gmail
I have been getting emails every once and a while, with important information for someone at janesmith gmail
Now, she signed up for FB mobile and I am getting all of these notifications on my jane.smith gmail address. I even have the "one more step to get started" email from FB with the confirmation code.
How can I notify this person?
No, I am not worried about identity theft. I know this person is legit and the name is fairly common.
Ideas on how to notify her? Does this mean she is getting my emails too?

To gmail the periods are invisible so Jane.smith and janesmith are the same email address (yours). This person is an idiot and just entering their email wrong.
Eta there is no way to contact her unless you can figure out her real email. You can hijack her Facebook account it sounds like.
Is this a real question? I am going to answer it just in case. No she doesn't know her own email address. She can't login to your email.
I know she cannot login to my account for my emails. But, I am getting emails intended for her.
I just tried to send an email to the janesmith address (hers) and it came to me jane.smith
I am wondering if she will get it as well.
Janesmith@gmail.com is your email address. The other jane smith is a moron who is typing her email in wrong on Facebook and elsewhere.
ETA since gmail doesn't recognize periods you have taken jane.smith@gmail and janesmith and presumably j.a.n.e.s.m.i.t.h. No one else can have that as their email.

Ok Thanks. I just read the link someone posted.
I am glad you figured it out. Sorry I wasn't trying to be shitty. It is just happening without me trying recently.

No worries. I am just frustrated and an idiot with technology. "Get off my email" is the new "Get off my lawn"
Ends up this person is different than the other emails I have been getting. She is a highschool student in FL. You should see all of the people that are confirmed friends on FB now- Trippy Ass, Trap Boy Marquis. She is getting messages from them already too- they are super nice. Cannot wait for my child to be of FB age
I had an idiot high school kid try to set up a catfish account using my email. The messages I was getting were hilarious. I was able to log in using my email and delete the whole account.

This happened to me with a different social networking site (and for the life of me I can't remember which one) a few years ago. After spending a few weeks trying to get in touch with the person I finally changed the login information to the account and wrote STOP USING E-MAIL ADDRESSES THAT DON'T BELONG TO YOU on her wall. Never happened again.
