I sure hope so. I'm planning on getting a gym membership tomorrow so I can start exercising again. Are you planning on doing any exercise along with dieting?
I have a double stroller. So walk/jog is as far as ill make it at this point. Ha.
I'm bit big in walking lately since it involves getting the twins ready and I get nervous they'll get grumpy across town. Plus my walking buddy is hardly available and walking alone after dark makes me nervous.

The only gym that covers daycare under the age of 2 is way too expensive. I could go to the place that is $30 a month but no daycare. Which sucks.
Makes sure you drink lots of water too. I have to remind myself but it makes a huge difference in my weight loss.
Let's check in throughout the week!
I drink a ton of water while at work. Usually 10 glasses at least. The only other drink I consume is a coffee in the morning and afternoon. I switched to milk instead of cream, and want to try sweetener instead of sugar this week. I'm glad adding water shouldn't be too bad. I think the hardest part will be avoiding snacks at work. For docs and nurses, we eat a horrific amount of unhealthy food! It's not uncommon for one of the docs to send a nurse to the store to get chocolate bars, chips and licorice to snack on through the afternoon.
@lazerus24 did you cave? i always feel like starting on mondays is a better option lol
and you and nursewife can do it. it's been 1.5 years of being good with calories about 75% of the time, along with exercise, for me but the weightloss happened. it was hard though
nursewife - between 45-50 since post birth. i was 185 when i got pg, about 195ish at height of pg, about 185 post pg then gained a few after birth so about 187. i'm about 140ish now (between 135-140).
That is just about where I'm at now. I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow on one of the good scales at work. Last I checked I was 170. Do you allow yourself cheat days at all? One if my favorite foods is bagels. I miss them already.
I have never been a huge fan of fruit, so eliminating it from my diet has been relatively easy. One or twice a week I'll have cantaloupe or a small apple. Sometimes I just toss them in my protein drink.
Can I get on board? I have been 140 or less my whole life then in the past few years I have blown up to 185. I hate even typing that out. I am so disgusted with myself.
My friend did the whole30 and looks amazing. Has anyone done that? (I still need alcohol though, lol)

Popping in to say I've done 4 whole30s over the past 2 years. They are really good for getting a reset and getting started on a whole foods way of eating. If you have any inkling that you may be sensitive to certain foods, a Whole30 will definitely help you identify those.

WOW! 4? I am scared to try one. Did you lose any weight? Were you booze free? Did you drink that weird fermented stuff? lol So many questions...
Should I do it? What was the hardest part? Were you sick to death of meat by the end of it?

Tell me all the things.
I did not lose weight, but that was not my goal. I definitely leaned out. But remember that I am a Crossfitter and weight lifter, so losing weight isn't really in my best interest. I followed all the rules the first two times, including alcohol. The second two I used grass-fed butter as a fat source because I knew that it did not affect me negatively. I sometimes drink kombucha, but not frequently anymore.
You should absolutely do it! It's a really good experience even though it's difficult. It will change your relationship with food for the better, if you let it. The hardest part is always the first few days. If you can get through those to about day 10, you will be rewarded with increased energy and just generally feeling better. You do eat meat at every meal, but remember that it's not all meat. You should *generous* portions of vegetables at every single meal and sometimes fruit. I am never sick of meat though.

I am really thinking I am going to start this. My friend looks amazing and says the same thing about her relationship with food and energy and all that.
I have to find a meat that I can eat a lot of, maybe chicken. I come from a vegetarian family so tons of veggies isn't a problem. Eating more than 1 meal a day with meat in it sounds crazy to me.
Do you have a blog or recommend any blogs on this?
I'm planning on eating fruit. I'm not a huge veggie or meat person.
I am eating fruit but only certain kinds.
Nothing too sweet (pineapple/peach etc etc).
When I do eat fruit I pair it with protein. So if I splurge on a banana I eat it with almonds. My go to snack is a small sliced apple with peanut butter.
I incorporate more fruit after I have lost the weight and want to maintain. I switch to more of a clean eating plan after I start to see results.
Have you done how carb before? I'm wondering how much I can expect to lose a week.
At first I lose a ton. Like 3-4lbs a week. But then it plateaus and is like a normal diet.
I think it is one of the quicker ones. You have to be ready for a lifestyle change though. Because it'll all come right back if you start to eat a ton if carbs right away.

Get some nuts for your snack. Or if you are craving crunchy and un healthy - beef jerky and pork rinds.
I keep wanting to get back on the low carb wagon but it's so haaaard especially now colder days are coming: I want pasta & potatoes.
I did loose 3.5kgs the first week I did it and that was without cutting out alcohol (at the weekend). I doubt I'd have the same results now though, I feel like it just shocked my body back then and it would now see it coming, lol.

I would recommend finding a handful of meats and rotating them otherwise you will get very sick of the same animal, same cut every meal. There is a way to do a vegetarian whole30 (you can find that information on whole9.com) but I cannot speak to that at all.
Whole9 is the main blog for the program, but many of the paleo blogs will have recipes - just check your ingredients because paleo doesn't necessarily mean Whole30. Clothes Make the Girl is a good one for Whole30 recipes. And Holly Would if She Could has done many posts chronicling her Whole30s.
@lazerus24 check in!! I've been good today. Had yogurt for breakfast and having split pea soup, veggies and salad for lunch!
I had eggs scrambled with spinach for breakfast.
I just had a spinach salad with turkey on top and some cheese.
Your lunch sounds awesome! When eating yogurt watch which kind you eat. Some of them are filled with carbs and sugar. I recommend plain Greek sweetened with stevia! More protein ad less carbs. But maybe you already knew that. So ignore me if you did. Lol.

I picked up Greek vanilla yogurt I can take to work for breakfast. I'll try doing that with fruit. I went grocery shopping and picked up a ton of fruit and veggies. I'm going to keep some peanut butter at work to eat with celery in the afternoon. Peanut butter helps with my sweet cravings. I was good today and didn't eat any of the giant delicious looking cinnamon buns today. I had a tiny rice crispy square though. Making spaghetti squash with meat sauce for supper. You?
