When you're watching something (a movie or TV series) that you've never seen before and someone (usually YOUR HUSBAND) walks into the room and asks, "What are you watching?" and then proceeds to ask THREE THOUSAND QUESTIONS about said show, completely disregarding the fact that you are attempting to pay attention to it. Men like this should be shot.
My sister and her bf were talking throughout this whole movie that dad and I hadn't seen before. They wouldn't stfu the whole time. I wanted to kill them both!!
I find hitting the pause button on the DVR usually works (accompanied by a glare). My husband always feels bad when he makes me pause my show :-) Usually he's like, "Oh, sorry, didn't mean to make you pause it..."
Mine always seems to get home from work (the late night random getting home times that happen on weekends) during the last 10 min of a movie. And then wants to talk- which believe me, I WANT to visit but let me finish the last 10 minute as I just invested 2 hours in a movie and want to see the end. And not just pause out bc then you lost that whole flow. I do pause sometimes but damn, let me just finish it in one fell swoop!

I wish this worked... I think H sees this as having my undivided attention. Ugh.

I have had good luck with this tactic as well. But it still annoys me that I even have to do it. WHY WAS IT NOT ALREADY OBVIOUS THAT I WAS PAYING ATTENTION TO SOMETHING?
When I'm feeling really fiesty, I even offer to go back to the beginning so that he can see what he's missed.

YES. OMG I cannot tell you how often this happens! Why is it always the last ten minutes?

Esp when you have a cry movie or a very suspenseful one that everything wraps up in those last 10 minutes. For real, I WANT to visit but let me just get the last 10 min! You could nearly set a clock by his entrance. Didn't matter what time the movie started or ended, with his random schedule, he'd show up in those last 10. (Past tense bc I have been too tired to watch many movies this yr ad he's been getting home later than I can stay awake. (This is about my 5th wake up of the night, not still awake this time)
