My left foot has been hurting for about a week. It seems to mostly be in my heel, but also a little bit in my arch. I've had plantar fasciitis in the past, so that's the first thing I thought it could be. But this is a little different from my previous bouts with PF. In the past, my heel hurt when I woke up, but it gradually got better throughout the day. Now my heel/foot hurts all day long. But it doesn't hurt too badly when I'm actually running (which is the same as in the past - it would hurt for the first few minutes, but then feel ok after I warmed up). But I've had a couple of runs where the bottom of my foot started cramping in addition to the other stuff. I've also been dealing with a really tight left calf for the past few weeks, despite stretching and massage. I know tight calves can lead to PF. Argh. Any suggestions other than to ice and stretch?
This is my peak mileage week before I taper, so I'm trying to get through this week and then hope the reduced mileage helps get rid of whatever this is.

Is it on the inside or outside of your foot? I have peroneal tendonitis, which attaches at the spot where the heel and outside part of the foot meet, and travels up the side of the ankle. I got it from a combination of running in the wrong shoes and running too much on the sloped part of the road. My podiatrist had me using heat on it, along with anti-inflammatories (he gave me a cream, but taking Advil helped more), and I stretched my calf and feet as much as I could. Hope you're feeling relief soon.
