Is 5 miles the furthest you've ever gone? I don't know about the swelling, but I would not do your long run, followed two days later by another long run. Anyone would have heavy, painful, legs after that.

OK, then ditto all of the advice in here. Make sure you're hydrated and take in some extra electrolytes. Foam roll, stretch, and maybe try an easy 2-3 on Thursday. You'll be OK!

I have found that what I eat the day/night before I run has more of an impact than what I eat the morning of my run - was there something different between the two days? More/less carbs, more/less salt, etc
