He had to go out of town for a meeting tonight. Our days and nights are just absolutely packed. Well, mainly his b/c I'm mainly on kid patrol. It's just busy busy busy. I feel like we have so much left to do and he's just not around much.
I'm doing what I can, but i'm freaking beat. And just keeping up w/ the daily house stuff and constant golden retriever hair patrol seems to take plenty of time.
I wish I could just get like 2 good days to work on stuff w/ his help and maybe w/ kid occupied elsewhere.
I know, i know, we'll get what we need to done and things don't have to be all done before kid arrives. I know he's cramming like crazy trying to get the newest house purchase renovated (needed new roof, electrical, plenty of wall stripping, basically a lot of work.) and I know he's trying to get at a stopping point with that before baby arrives but I'm just tired and want a little down time before baby crazy time arrives.
Plus, we still have work w/ our primary workplace and some added stuff still going on based upon the death of our business partner this year.
Things were just supposed to be slower from mid Sept onward and that hasn't happened, nor does it seem to be in the cards. I was kind of counting on a little more downtime. I was sole person on kid duty for all of 2nd tri when I had more energy and prob should have tackled some more of the big projects when I had energy.
I can do some while she's awake but she's SUCH a "helper" that she has to be involved with everything and basically makes every project 10x harder to finish. It's cute, but kind of tough. (see pics for how much help she is. cville you can show your husband that even a 2 yr old can build hemnes. )
Random vent.
it's ok. It's not marriage threatening or anything. I know ppl go long stretches w/o dh around. It's just been a LONG year with LONG LONG LONG work weeks (7 days a week, min 12 hours a day pretty much). We did have our FL trip, which was a lovely 4 days away from it all!
thanks. She is super cute and tries to help with everything.
She carefully carries me my tea to wherever I am (b/c it takes me hours to drink it and gets cold). She walked a long way yesterday with it while I was doing dishes. She tries to put my shoes and socks on. (which is AWESOME right now b/c it's hard to bend, I just wish she were better at it!) She tries to fold laundry. (not at ALL helpful, but she IS trying.) She drops everything to drag a chair over if she hears me doing anything related to cooking int he kitchen.
etc.
She's my little buddy. But actual jobs take forever with help.
Send your kid over to build me a Hemnes, too. LOL.
She actually was really good about getting the correct parts out of the bag of parts and handing to me.
I taught her to say "dowel" lol and we counted ea part.
It's hard to hammer and use a screw gun though while watching for tiny fingers trying to help. She's getting good at ikea. She's been "helping" build them since she started crawling. I'll have to look for some of those pics lol.
