I mailed 19 invitations for my SIL's baby shower. Neither she nor my MIL RSVP'd. Fine. I know you're both coming. We've talked about it.
But now, less than one week than the "RSVP by" date, I still haven't heard from six people. Come on. Each of these people are blood relatives to SIL. You knew when you got the invite whether you could make it or not. Why do I have to call you now to confirm?!
Five of the six I can contact directly through Facebook. I don't have any way to contact the sixth, but H's aunt always seems to know what's up with her, and she's on FB. So the solution isn't hard, I'm just pissed that I have to!
My dad's family NEVER RSVPs! EVER! And they like to bring un-invited guests.
Then there is H's family. I don't think they know what RSVP is, they don't use it for any of their invites. I haven't had to send anything RSVP to them (yet), MIL has always sent out the invites. I'll find out from Em's first birthday, I guess!
Did you include an email address to RSVP to? I find that people are so much better about this through email. I hate calling strangers though, so maybe its just me.
Yup - phone and email. And I'm FB friends with most of them.
Hell, I had to FB my fav cousin-in-law today to ask her if she was coming for sure, since she kept sharing baby shower pins with my on Pinterest. That's when she RSVPd for herself and her sister. Ugh.

Oh god. Rage. Not RSVP-ing and then BRINGING more people. I would die.

Good thing I make twice the food in need always.
They brought two extra people (uninvited) to my wedding. I didn't do place cards because I ran out of time. I really wish I had - where would they have sat! It would have been awesome. And added to the smack down that almost occurred between my mom and dad's family.
I wouldn't worry too much until the RSVP date has passed (and maybe add another few days for the mail). I'm about 50-50 on RSVPing right away vs. at or very close to the deadline. And not everyone knows right away if they can come...

My in laws didn't RSVP to my baby shower, H had to call all of them. His cousin and wife showed up after saying wife couldn't come and cousin wasn't even invited. Luckily I had two friends who couldn't make it at the lady minute so it worked out but H was pissed.

So annoying!
My mom didn't have a single person RSVP for my shower. I think she was on the verge of tears thinking about it, because she believed no one was coming.
