Which is whatever, an inhaler is a minor inconvenience to add to my list of prescriptions. However, I am amused/horrified that I have been running 50-75 miles per month, and every time I had trouble breathing I would tell myself I was a wuss or out of shape or whatever, only to find out those were attacks. I tried to bootstrap myself out of asthma lol. So mostly, I am glad that I never dropped dead on a sidewalk somewhere <)
As a bonus, I just ran after using the inhaler as instructed, and was amazed how much better it felt!
I did the same thing when I was super anemic this summer. My hemoglobin was like 9, and I was pissed at myself for being so slow and terrible. "Too slow, better work harder! More speed work!" When I was actually working myself into congestive heart failure from exerting myself too much with not enough oxygen.

Whoa that is so scary! I'm glad it was caught though. But yep, I was all annoyed with myself about my pace slowing and having to walk a bit and breathe/wheeze like a crazy person.

No but seriously, I know what you mean! When I was asking dance classes, I'd do like five puffs and go go go! I almost felt high. Like you, I also thought I was just getting more and more out of,shape.

Lol! Yeah, I went to the dr for just a scheduled thyroid check/follow up and my dr was all, "yeah, you really should have brought this up sooner."
This same thing happened to me. I had logged almost 200 miles in 4 months. I stopped running with friends because I was so embarrassed by how loud I was breathing. They would be chatting away and I was gulping in air and wheezing. I beat myself up because I must be horribly unfit.
When I had the Methacholine Challenge I started coughing and turned red after a few puffs of the nebulizer. It took 2 medications and 30 minutes to recover enough to stop the test. Now I'm on singular and 2 inhalers. I had legit reasons to wheeze. Super cold weather bothers me, but I cannot believe how much better I feel. I don't know if you noticed, but I would be sleepy after a bad attack. I would also have a dry cough for hours. Now my recovery after a workout is nothing. I feel refreshed.
