Would you bring a 13 year old girl who is obsessed with Anime and My Little Pony? Her favorite place in the world is the local comic book store but isn't really into D&D or Super Heroes.
I am honestly not sure if she would like Comic Con (Of course when I ask her she says she would LOVE to go, but I don't want to waste the $ if you think it wouldn't be worth it) Is it worth the cost of admission and train tix or should I wait until she is a little older to appreciate it? Do you see a lot of younger teens there or is it mostly older?
San Diego Comic Con is an unholy mess-I've been once, my FI has been 15 times over the years. It is super crowded, and likely she wouldn't be able to get in to any of the panels she'd like to see as you generally have to stand in line for hours. I'd recommend taking her to a smaller local-to-you con. Long Beach Comic Con for example, or if you don't mind traveling, Phoenix Comic Con, which has lots of stuff aimed at teens her age and while still large, is nowhere near as crazy. Disclaimer-I am involved with PHXCC,
I went to one in Orlando when I was younger, probably about 13. My grandpa is a comic book illustrator for Marvel and DC comics, so we went to see him when he still traveled to those things. I just remember seeing lots of people walking around in costumes. lol
I think a small local con sounds like a good idea. A big convention can be overwhelming and super crowded ands way harder to see the panels and celebrities that you want to see

I think she might have a better time at a smaller con. When we went to Comic Con it was very crowded and we didn't get into any of the panels that we wanted to (we went one day). The tickets can be hard to get your hands on. Also, I don't remember a ton of anime there. It was mostly superhero/TV/movie type stuff.
If it is her first con, I think it would be good to go to something smaller so she can kind of see what they are about and see if she likes it. If you look, there might be an anime con that is close to you. We go to a small local con every year and we've gone to C2E2. They are a lot of fun. The small local con we go to has a lot of people who cosplay anime characters and there are a lot of panels that are about anime/manga or have anime voice actors in them (these are my favorite panels, usually).
So, I guess my recommendation would be to take her to a small con (anime if possible) and wait on comic con.
