the teen and I were talking about jobs during high school and she just about shit herself when I told her I made a whopping $3.35 an hour for my first job.
Minimum wage when I got my first job was $4.25. I got in a Burger King and made $5.25. Ha, take that, grocery store that wouldn't hire me at minimum wage!
$3.35 for me too - back in 1985. Baskin Robbins - best job I've ever had lol
However, gas was $.099/gallon and I drove a geo metro so $5.00 in gas could last me a week.
I worked at Baskin Robbins all during high school!
I don't have a clue what minimum wage was. But prior to scooping ice cream, I was a soccer referee, and I made really good money actually, like $15 a game for the line and $20 for center.

I can't remember but it looked it up. My first job "real" job was when I was a senior in high school in 1977--I was 17. According to the scale I found the minimum wage then was $2.30.

I'm still bitter Benetton never paid me that day that I worked for them. A day (8 hours) of folding shirts and telling people that their outfits look great = Fls 20. THEY OWE ME approximately what, 12$.

It was around 6 dollars and something. Can't remember exactly. I was doing odd jobs at a bank. Most of my friends were working at a local grocery store making less then me. I used to feel so cool... (hot)

Anywhere from $7.50 to $10.00. I worked as a caricature artist at a local theme park. So, we had based pay and commission pay. My first "real" job paid $9.50 an hour.
