I really hope that you start feeling better soon. I don't wish a diagnosis or thyroid troubles on you, but sometimes I wish that my anxiety and blahs had a diagnosis so that it could just be TREATED.

Lots of good thoughts, kiz.
Thanks!! I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism a few years ago and have been taking meds since then. I'm wondering if my levels are wonky so I'm going to have them checked to see if a med change is needed. Stupid thyroid!
I hope that's "all" it is, and that it's easily fix-able.

I hear ya. I've been battling with my thyroid for the last 4 years or so. Still can't get to the place where I feel normal yet. I think I may need to go back to the doc and ask for the other med (besides just synthroid) so I can get both the T3 and T4 - but I can't remember what it's called... *sigh*

I take Armour Thyroid which is basically pig thyroid. My dose is actually pretty low so I'm wondering if I need more.
I used to take that before switching to synthroid at the advice of my gynecologist (I'm wanting to get pregnant). I felt better at first but then my body seemed to adjust and things went back to their (new) "normal" of blah.
I always start getting more anxious and depressed when the seasons turn after the summer. I didn't have vitamin D levels checked, but my doctor recommended supplements and a SAD light since most northerners are deficient in the winter months.
I'm definitely getting a light for this winter so I'll let you know how it goes!
I have SAD, and I have to be careful because too much light could make me manic (bipolar), so I have a light alarm clock and also sit in the same room with it on for at least an hour or two a day. I've been using it for three years now, and it definitely helps.
SAD usually starts hitting me hard in the beginning to middle of September, and it hasn't this year. As part of dealing with my bone loss, they tested my vitamin D, and I was very insufficient. In the middle of the summer when getting quite a bit of sun. So I'm at the end of month two of 50,000 IU of vitamin D a week, and we're retesting levels next week. You have to be careful with vitamin D because too much is toxic, but because of the bone loss my insurance is covering the lab work and everything else. Helping with the SAD is an unintended, but helpful side effect
