Hey Girls! I am usually a lurker on this board and soak in all of your knowledge, but I have a question tonight. I have a really red face that is so dry. Do you have any recommendations that would cool down the dryness burning that I get and also tame the red. If its budget friendly that would be nice but I am willing to spend whatever needed. I am DESPERATE.
I don't think it tames my red skin. But pure avocado oil has made a difference to my dry skin. I used to get terrible flaky patches and those have been reduced to zero. I put it on only at night with my clean fingers. Then I usually use a hot wash cloth over my face to steam a bit and then gently wipe off. It picks up all my leftover make-up too on the wash cloth.
I bought it from a little homemade boutique shop from my hometown. But on the ingredients list it listed as pure avocado oil. So I will just being buying a bottle from a small health food store when I replace it.
Clinique has one that is for upset skin. I used to use it all the time. Truth be told, it worked so well that often I would get a sample and it would help clear it up. I wouldn't need the whole tub, but I did buy it several times just so I wouldn't be w/ out it. It's been replaced with Clinique Redness Relief for Sensitive Skin.Hope you feel better. I feel your pain.

Lurker coming out!
I'm currently on Accutane and the moisturizer I use is Cetaphil Restoraderm. It's pretty thick, but does a good job. I think I paid $15 for a big bottle of it.
I use Clinique Super Rescue antioxidant night moisturizer for very dry to dry skin. It's amazing, it doesn't irritate my dry, sensitive-ish skin, and is very hydrating, IMO.
Also you might want to look at what cleanser you're using. Hell, overall what products you're using. For a budget-friendly, gentle cleanser, I really like the Olay foaming face wash for sensitive skin.
Neova night therapy for the redness. This stuff is amazing. The main active ingredient is copper peptides, which were originally used as a wound healing agent. It was then found that it can help with fine lines and wrinkles, so copper peptides are used in a few skincare lines sold by dermatologists (Neova is the big one). I use the night therapy cream for aging, but found that it also really, really helps any redness in my skin. I once had a bad reaction to Retin-A when I first started using it, and my face turned red and raw. It cleared up right away after starting Neova Night Therapy. I have pics of the before and after on makeupalley.com if you want to see them.
