You just moved in to a new house. You are extremely excited and have been talking this house up to anyone who will listen. You have friends in town and you bring them to the house to get some things before heading out again. This is not a quick pick-up. You have to search for things and put things in bags and etc, etc, etc.
You exit the car. Your friend exits the car. What happens next?
Quick tour, make you promise to come back when I'm all unpacked, then install you on the couch with a tall drink of your choice while I get my shit together.
I expect them to follow me in, apologize profusely for the place being a mess due to not being unpacked, and offer them whatever I have on hand while I get my shit together and then give a quick tour. Or tour and then offer some type of refreshment.
They ran in and up the stairs and we were like, uhhh... I guess we should follow. So we did and then we stood around awkwardly while they did things that they had led us to believe were already done.
LOL. So you had to play nice and be all "Oooo...I bet this room will look great when it's all unpacked. So, which room is that then?". "Oh, you're putting the gold couch in the purple room--no I totally see that being a great look."?

No way! No tour means I'm off the hook for niceties.
