So my dad's family lives in our area (MD/DC/VA), some about 15 min from us and some up to 2 hours away. We try to see them whenever we can, for family GTG's, holidays, etc. I just saw some of them a few weeks ago for a pre-Yom Kippur cooking party, but we didn't see them for the actual holiday b/c we were with my IL's.
I just found out based on other people's FB posts that they are all having a birthday party for my great-aunt this Sunday, and we weren't invited. Cousins are flying in from IL, step-kids who see this family way less than we do are invited, but we aren't. All te local family will be there.
I PM'd a cousin in law (she married in and is wicked cool) asking about it and she was all "Oh, yeah? Sunday! See you there....oh....and now I guess that you weren't invited..."
It's not worth making drama with them b/c they will NEVER LET IT GO, but I'm kind of hurt. Blerg.
Wow that sucks. Maybe they just thought you knew. I'd ask a family member (older gen) and prob someone just figured you knew since you lived closer than some.
