my thoughts: I don't think the wallpaper will appeal to most people I LOVE the big gray tiles she used especially the herringbone pattern I don't care for the fireplace but I don't really like white marble, I find it cold Love that she opened up the kitchen Love the kitchen cabinets with the black counters and the black island although I'm not sure why the cabinets don't go the extra 2 inches up to the ceiling Hate the way the dining room light is swagged it needs some extra chain or something Love the bathrooms, they look great I can't believe she didn't remove the popcorn ceiling
I think she did a really good job. I agree about it being a little too much in her style. I'm not sure "French Boathouse" is a look for the masses. But overall it's great. The kitchen and bathrooms will really sell that place quickly.
I like it. I think she did a good job, but I also think she decorated too much in her style.
I have never sold home but you always hear that you should stage to appeal to the mass market. I think she went too white.
I agree with this 100%. I think it is lovely. I love the tile, however I think it should have been limited to the kitchen and something else done in the bathrooms. I think it takes away from the uniqueness of the tile if it is in more than one space. Also, she could have saved a lot of money with a different tile for the bathrooms. $6 a tile is pretty steep, especially for a flip.
I also like the floors, but they are too whitewashed/light and seem to fit a particular style which may not translate to the average buyer.
I like the vanities in the bathrooms, but again, I'm not sure it translates to the average buyer. The gray is pretty, but not sure it needed to be done it both bathrooms.
In regards to the staging, she definitely did it in her style. If I was looking at the house, I would think it was too stark for me and know that I would have to repaint everything.
Overall it is a lovely space and maybe it would appeal to the average buyer, but that would make me not the average buyer.

I'm not familiar with this poster or the history of the flip. I like a lot of it, but really don't like those laminate floors. They look fake to me. Does anyone know why she ripped out the old floors? Could they not be refinished?
It's very pretty...but I don't understand why do all that work and not remove the popcorn ceilings? If I was the potential buyer I'd notice that right away...
It's exactly like her house. I think that within her style, she's brilliant, but it is SO not my style. It feels cold and way too, I don't know..."fancy" for me. I need a warm home, not a showpiece.

Is she trying to be Jeff Lewis? "Over at Lexington..." I kid. Anyway, I like it. It looks like her house. I know she did a lot of work, but she should have concentrated less on the stuff that may appeal to some people and focused more on fixing the things that most people would expect to be done, like the popcorn ceilings. If I walked in knowing it was a flip and saw that beautiful kitchen and then saw popcorn ceilings, I'd think WTH.
I could totally see someone coming in and ripping down that wallpaper, painting those walls, scraping that ceiling, changing that light over the kitchen (dining room?) table, etc. I guess that is something to be expected when you flip, though. Overall, I think she did a great job.
I think it looks really good for such a quick flip. I love that tile so much that I showed it to my husband. I think we're going to use it for a mudroom we're building this year.
I do agree it's been redone too much in her style. I think tried to branch out a little (like the black countertops), but like someone else said, most buyers will walk in knowing they are going to repaint the walls right away. With that said, it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me! Overall, I think she did a great job.
I like a lot of it, but really don't like those laminate floors. They look fake to me.
This, exactly. Not a fan of the flooring. At all.
ETA: And while I love me some white on white, my reaction as a buyer would be to mentally start calculating how much painting I'd need to do. The white looks really stark and it's just not a neutral that appeals to the masses, IMO.
I definitely would have spent the money on scraping the ceilings and boxing in that funky part of the staircase where there is only like 3 steps jutting out.
I think the reason the kitchen cabinets are low is b/c of the pantry, although I would have built a box around and just painted it the same color as the cabinets so they went to the ceiling (similar to what TLC did on theirs).
I think the pictures make it look white and bright more than it probably is. There just seems to be some sort of balance off in the photos, it's probably processing. I'm sure whoever buys it will paint and add color.
I live somewhat close to Holly, and I can totally see why she left the popcorn ceilings. Those are standard here - and not just in older homes. My friend just built a home and wanted the flat ceilings and the contractor talked her out of it - he said around her that within a few years a flat ceiling would start to show hairline cracks and it has to be re-done and it just isn't worth it.
We live in an area that gets FREAKING COLD in winter- lots of house popping, cracking, shifting, and everything shrinks and expands. Flat ceilings aren't all that practical and I have only seen them a few times in real life. Even new builds here get popcorn most of the time, although now they do a much flatter popcorn and it is not that noticable.
I don't think the money it would have cost to redo the ceilings would have been worth it. Around here no one gives a crap about it and would not pay more for a house that had the ceilings scraped and repaired to be flat.
love that floor tile and the kitchen. it's just WAY too much white - insane. that is weird about needing to leave the popcorn ceiling - I've heard people say that but (just personally) I don't know anyone who's regretted it, cold climate or not.
i love it, but i love white. if buyers can look past a whole world of other cosmetic issues i'm sure they can look past a monochromatic decor. i like white/light grey walls and adding color with stuff.
Overall it's nice but in the photos it is so white it actually hurts my eyes to look at. I do not like the temp, small island thing in the kitchen...I feel like the kitchen feels more open & updated but is lacking in counter space & storage space even worse now.
I like it a lot and think she did a great job. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the wine barrel chandelier. I think it would look find though if it was adjusted a bit and allowed to swag more and hang down a bit lower. As it is, it kind of looks stuck to the ceiling.
