A friend of ours works for a bail bondsman and has unlimited access to criminal records. She was talking about running a guy's report for her friend who was starting to date him. I asked if she would look up someone from my past and she said it would not be a problem. I haven't actually asked her to do it yet, I am curious about an ex, but part of me thinks I'm better off not knowing.
Do you have someone you would be curious to search? If it were no cost to find out, would you not hesitate to find out?

Nobody at all?
I have a short list, not all of them ex's. There was a murder of a friend of mine and a circle of people that I worked with that were there or involved in some way, I wonder about a couple of them as well. I guess I know too many shady characters from my past and my curiosity is there, just to see if they might have cleaned up or fell into more trouble.

Nah, unless it would actively affect my life at the moment. Then again, I do have pretty much free access to that if I wanted. My opinion might be different if it were a novelty.
I have a habit of keeping friends long term and if I left the friendship there was a reason. I don't have any particular interest in what has happened to them in terms of jailing.
There are a few that I kind of wonder "Where are they now" but not "have they been to jail"
Yeah, I'd be curious. I won't lie, I've looked up my ex before, but it was more in a "I wonder what he's in jail for now" kind of way, rather than an "I wonder what he's doing" way.
Oh, sure. When I worked for the bar association I would kill time by looking up criminal records.
If I was the one with access to the records, I might out of bordom. But I can't think of anyone that I would go out of my way to look up.
Now if I'm seeking someone's services (contractor, plumber, etc) or if I were in a position to hire people (like SitNSpin), then I think their criminal records would come in handy.

My H has access, but it's never really crossed my mind. I'm not very curious.
It seems like word gets around fast anyway between Facebook and hearing things through the grapevine so there isn't much left to be curious about when it comes to people from my past.

I worked for a bail bonds surety company for several years and I used to browse stuff or search people out of boredom... But my HS friend that was potentially being put on death row is the only one I sometimes wonder about now, and his case is public.
