I made tacos, I love tacos. I use the same old old el paso seasoning mix and water. I bought generic tortillas this time and my normal cheese. And it was all made with my normal grocery store ground beef. (Of which we have already eaten from this pack, so the beef is ok)
I got through 1.5 of them and realized the tortillas taste like soap. I tried to finish it, but I couldn't. I asked my husband if his tasted fine, he said the tortilla doesn't taste like the normal ones I buy but it is ok. He ate all of his. I drank a glass of water and stopped eating.
And then I ran to the bathroom because I had to toss my cookies. If I had been standing up, it would have been a projectile situation.
My stomach doesn't hurt, this isn't coming with any big stomach cramps or discomfort.
I came back into the living room, drank a bit of water. And ran back to the bathroom to do it all over again. I have never in my life vomited this forcefully. And usually I can keep it down, there was no keeping it down.
Now I'm leery about drinking water.
I didn't eat anything weird today. And I have felt fine except for dinner. My Husband still maintains that he feels fine. I have no idea whether to think this is some kind of bug, whether the tortillas were bad, or if it is just me. And is the water causing the vomit reaction or is it just adding to it.
Boo Sorry you are feeling bad, and I hope it passes quickly.
I think the water is probably just adding to the vomit situation. What did you eat 2-6 hours before the tacos?
Nothing, I slept until 1pm. And we ate around 5pm.
Last night I didn't eat anything super heavy or out of the normal. And I felt fine all night.
So I guess it is safe to assume this is from dinner itself? I think you might be right about the water. Do I just lay low and not eat or drink anything else for a few hours?

Give yourself an hour and then try a small sip of water. If you go more than 3-4 hours without being able to hold anything down I'd go into urgent care.

Yeah, if you haven't eaten anything else recently, it was probably the dinner. It's weird the tortillas tasted like soap! Usually that's a "taster" reaction to cilantro - was there any cilantro in some salsa or something you put on the tacos?
I would try 30 minutes to an hour without anything, and see how you feel. Then drink water very sparingly (like a sip or two, then wait, another sip, wait, etc.), and rest. You might get a bit dehydrated if you go a long time without water after puking, so maybe after a little while, try sipping on a little bit of Gatorade if you've got it.
No cilantro in the dinner. I am a very boring taco maker. lol.
I will give it a few and try something small and bland. Thanks ladies! I know this is a sort of stupid thing to consult ML on but I'm not sick and I'm not much of a puker.
I think this is a situation caused by you overthingking your soapy tasting tacos. If you are not in pain and no longer nauseated i think this is a fluke. Of course, I'm most certainly incorrect
