this is him freshly hatched; already he looks less smushy and red and more rounded.
the introduction of L and O went very well. she was sweet and excited and i remembered to leave him in the bassinet when she came in the door. she wanted to hold him right away.

we're all doing pretty well, and so far little O is a great baby. nurses like a champ, rarely fusses, has this weirdo high pitched pterodactyl sound he makes as a pre-cry warning so you can head it off at the pass thus far, and is all smushy and cute.
i'm exhausted and yet can't seem to make myself sleep but otherwise feel pretty good. i think my husband is trying for some sort of sweetest and most helpful spouse award, so i think he walks on water right now. he even spontaneously got me an opal necklace (november birthstone). dude.
my little girl misses us and just called me crying to hear me sing, so my heart is half full and half broken at this VERY moment, but we're going home tomorrow morning and i calmed her down. so i'm feeling marginally better.
the best part of the L&O picture, to me, is that she was smiling at me all excited. you can't tell because i was off camera (ha). but i was so touched that as soon as she was holding him she looked for me.
Firstly, your hair has great sheen, and secondly, your children are precious. Your baby is perfectly chubby-cheeked and awesomely healthy-looking. Ya done good, mama.
lol. i was really glad that i'd given myself a blow out on tuesday morning.
also, if i may brag, my kickass son (!!) had apgar scores of 8 and 9. oh yeah. he IS one healthy giant (he's like 1-3 lbs bigger than every other baby in the nursery right now. he looks like gulliver in there).
What great pictures, congrats! Have fun heading home tomorrow. When we left the hospital our car seemed so full, it was strange. Like, whoa, we are a family of four.
