I am actually fairly caught up in my work despite doing the work of two people for the last month and a half. I'm pretty proud of myself, but I'm trying to stretch out the work I do have to last me all day and I'm not sure I can swing it. As a result, I want to leave early since I know I'll be bored by this afternoon, but I'm trying to save the rest of my AL so I can take a week off at Christmas to be home with the kids and so I don't have to figure out what to do with dd for two weeks, just one week.
We got about 6 inches of snow last night. It's supposed to be back up in the 50's tomorrow and 60's on Sunday. Gotta love "fall" in Wyoming.
Andplusalso, last night was night 3 of ds picking up his cup and putting it in his mouth and drinking! I tried to get photographic evidence but as soon as I got my phone, he got more interested in it and didn't do it again after that. Little stinker. But progress!
Now I just need to figure out how to get him to pick his food up and put that in his mouth. I put food on his tray every time he eats, and I've been making much more of an effort to put him in his highchair while I'm eating (if he's already eaten) and give him some of my food. I will take the food on his tray, pick it up and take a bite myself to show him, but he will just pick it up, then he either puts it back down or throws it on the floor. Ideas?
I really really really need my 3 year olds to stop sleeping like 3 month olds. I can barely keep my eyes open this morning. I've been up since 4:45. And then before that it was 3, and then 1 and then 1230....there is not enough coffee for today. Any ideas for kids who have become afraid of the dark? We slept with every light on upstairs last night and that didnt seem to matter...
We bought DD acheap light up wand and told her it was a special wand that would make anything scary in the dark go away (can't remember exactly how we phrased it). At bedtime we would do a room check--under the bed, in the closet, etc. then give her the wand.
We "spray" for monsters like the bug man sprays for bugs. We sprayed all around the house (for a few days) - "Daddy is in the garage spraying for monsters." After a few days we just told them Daddy had already sprayed, found a better spray that didn't need to be done everyday, the bug man took care of it bc we told him to spray for monsters too, etc. Fingers crossed, it has worked.
