Has anyone owned a home for a short period? Why did you sell?
DH hates the area we live in. He scours MLS listings everyday looking to move. We have been in our house 2 years and 2 months. He would like to sell tomorrow if it were possible.

We owned our home for about 4 years. Once we had a second child, we realized it wasn't going to work for us long term. Our interest rate was high based on when we bought, and we weren't able to refinance without bringing a ton of money to the table. We decided to move since a) the mortgage wouldn't be that much higher since we can get a significantly lower interest rate, and b) we had reason to believe that the value of our house would go down further based on some changes that are happening to the area. We decided to cut our losses rather than sinking more money into the house to refinance.
We sold it for what we owed, and still had to bring a fat check to closing.
We owned our home for exactly 2 years. We had to sell in order to move across the country for my job. Thankfully we sold for what we purchased it for, but it still sucked to write a check to cover some of the realtor's fees.

We're house hunting now after 5 years in our home, but I was ready 2 years ago I think we're going to rent this one out though, my ultimate goal is to flip homes and/or own a few rentals so might as well get my feet wet now!
