UPDATE -
Okay. Revised menu. Big thanks to everyone for the input, and especially to pagas and stpete for the awesome additions to the menu.
- French bread & cheese tray (although I am going to make those cranberry crostinis for Thanksgiving) - Romaine hearts with fennel, shaved parm and vinaigrette - Maple pecan crusted salmon (going to make the scallops when it's fewer people. We have 8 coming.) - Butternut squash risotto - Roasted Brussels sprouts - Pear Tart

papie - I'm pescetarian and they know it, but I don't want people leaving feeling hungry or lacking. I won't cook meat, but H would and does. I'm thinking of adding something that would please meat eaters.

@tambcat - Yeah, I was thinking that too.
If your husband will do the honors, meat eaters will be most thankful.
I would be okay with it, it wouldn't be my fave but I wouldn't turn it down either.
What would you add / change?
I personally would get rid of the quiche - if you wanted to keep the crab, you could maybe do mini crab cakes or something? I also like bacon-wrapped scallops for another seafood option.
Also, I would replace the Caesar salad with a harvest salad or something different...My favorite salad is one that I found a recipe for online, it's supposed to be similar to Outback's Bleu Cheese Chopped Salad I guess.
I think I'd possibly want more of a meat option as well...maybe like filet medallions, or something else? Skewers would be good like what was said previously
What is fancy about salad, cheese, bread, squash flavored rice and egg in a tart shell?
Really.
I think it sounds good. I don't even eat crab so I would pass on the quiche if I were a guest. But the rest of the options would suit me fine.
And I would not miss meat. I don't think you have to have meat. (papie - you just fulfilled that Greek stereotype..."no meat? whatcho mean no meat?")
This made me laugh.
They are name droppers and enjoy $300 bottles of wine. Luckily they're also really nice people and enjoy bottles of wine from trader joes, otherwise we'd be screwed.
