Does anyone here work with Blackboard? DH is taking a course for the Army. He's halfway done. Went to log in and it's saying he's not only not enrolled in any classes, but his email address isn't even registered. He's freaking the fuck out, since he's put a ton of work into this. If everything is gone or he got deleted, is all his work gone? If he has to redo all of the work, I don't know what he's going to do. This has been hours and hours of work.
He needs to contact whoever manages the course about the issue. It's probably a glitch on Blackboard's end that's affecting every student at the moment, but if the school isn't aware of the problem they can't fix it. I'd be surprised if his work has been deleted unless he didn't save it before the error screen popped up. If that's the case, though, I'm sorry to say that my experience has been that if Blackboard logs you out/glitches before you hit save there's no way to retrieve the work.
I'm doing an Air Force course on blackboard and it's been on the fritz since the shutdown began. There should be a way he can submit a help ticket or call an actual help-desk now that the shutdown is over. This would be my first course of action. They will fix it.
Blackboard is EVIL. I once got interim grades for my French class in college (I had gotten As on all compositions and tests) - it was a D!!! Apparently BB was deleting my work every time I logged out so I had zeros for all my homework. I had to redo all my homework for the semester and it took me 20+ hours. What a nightmare.
He's contacted the professors and submitted a ticket, to which the ticket came back saying his email wasn't registered. He tried calling, but since it's the weekend, no one is in until Monday. He is NOT happy. He saves religiously and has been getting grades for all his work thus far. He's just concerned that all his work/grades/etc... is gone forever.
