So after a tough time due to some interesting news (update later in the week possibly) and also tough dealings with past issues/abuse that sneaked up on me - I was given the go-ahead to put down my "co-dependent no more" book and work on having some fun for me and my well being from my counselor. So looking for some ideas, no major gym time as my weight is still dropping too fast (not trying to boast or be a bitch) due to the above - only strength training permitted. Here is what I have so far:
I already took a long shower and shaved, lol, after DD went to bed. Make hair cut, color, and wax appt Already moved the laptop to the office area away from the TV and going to work on cheap cheap cheap design Work on DD's baby book and slide show for her b-day party I might just move to Target (love the marketing) Festival with DD and friends this weekend ........ Also looking for any FUN books to read
If you're losing weight, get thee to an ice cream store and treat yourself to a big sundae!
I wish! The thing that sucks and will hopefully improve is that I have no appetite nor taste for anything which sucks - hopefully that will change here soon with all of this. So I am literally eating because that is what I am supposed to do.
I may do a good flavored shake with some protein powder in it
Do you have anyone close by who could watch DD overnight so you could sleep in?
Maybe - I am hoping I can get this because I still feel that "guilt" when I leave her for fun and not work, I need to get over that as she is almost 1, and I need to sleep for like a day to make up for the last year!

A well rested, happy, recharged mom is much better than a mom who's always around, tired and crabby!!

Ah, cheese. I have no cheese and finally the only thing I am craving for the first time ever is cheap mac and cheese and I have none!!! Can you find a judge that will get my ass out of state easily?

I write a lot. I have about 3 story ideas floating around in my head at any given time. I also read. I'm working on Lady of the Rivers by Phillipa Gregory right now. I pack DS up in a stroller, grab my dog and we all go for a walk in the neighborhood. Make plans on how I want decorate a room. I still have 4 rooms to do in my house.

What kind of books do you like? I am an avid reader, so I could recommend if you have a favorite genre. One of my favorite mystery authors is Harlen Coben. I also browse top new books on amazon or barnesandnoble, and then request at my library.
I am big on starting small projects - like your daughter's baby book. Something able to be completed rather quickly so it doesn't drag on. Photo collages to hang on the wall, framing early artwork by your girl, etc. Or browse Michael's for some small project ideas.

Glad you are doing so much better now!
I should say that I got permission for a "temporary break," my counselor recognized that I was putting ALL my extra energy when I had it into working on me, going through the book, etc - so he said to just take a break and do some fun things for me. So while I am not a ton better only just a bit after a small crises mode - I am trying to be more of me so that the small crises mode set off by triggers isn't such a big flippin deal to me anymore. Thank you though!

That is a tough one because before, a lot of my reading was for academics/research and though I enjoyed it - it didn't really give an escape.
Honestly the last set of books I really enjoyed and read rather quickly where the Twilight series and The Host by Stephanie Meyer. No shame here. I read the first book of the Hunger Games and liked it, however, the second focuses a lot on a life being controlled and that is not an escape for me at the moment. Not sure if that helps - but scary is good too - like impossible scary not so murder mystery scary, lol.

One of the things I do for myself is get manicures/pedicures....if you find a good place they arent expensive and having someone rub my feet while Im in a massage chair is so relaxing.

If you're in VA I would totally borrow your kid. We're waiting at least a few more years so I need my kid fix somewhere. And I'm all government background checked and shit.
I really love to go for walks or hikes with my dogs. Sub in DD here and it can be really fun. I garden; if you're in an apartment, you can always do herbs, or if you have a porch a few tomato plants. I read a lot. I just read the Help (I am so behind the times) and loved it. Lately I grill and drink wine on the porch. I also love to cook although that doesn't sound like your thing right now : )

Watching tv can make me sluggish and burned out.
I will be in VA next month and you can borrow my DD. I'm sure that will change your mind about having kids lol.

I love other people's kids! We babysit for friends a lot but normally hit our limit around 6 hours.
