"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
This guy has a lot of food hate, and it is hilarious.
I live in Chicago, and hate Chicago-style pizza. It is terrible, and NY style (the huge, huge sliced kind that you literally have to fold just to jam it in your mouth) is the best.
Also, pasties (MI) are awesome - the key is hot sauce, and plenty of it!
And I agree 1,000% with his assessment of Cincinnati chili. Blech blech blech.
Yes! Deep dish pizza is what tourists and locals entertaining tourists eat. And Pasties are amazing! My grandma was sent to the local baker in my grandpas hometown in the UP to be taught how to make pasties before marrying my grandpa ha! Grandpa was a miner they would take a hot pasty in the morning keep it in their work coat and eat it at lunch still wrapped up and warm;)
i am still a little upset with Tampa raised H today so I like reading about Tampa sucking;)

Exactly. I have taken several of H's cousins, aunties and uncles (from out of the country) to the original Uno's, Gino's East, and Giordano's over the years. It's terrible every time, but they LOVE it.

Whaaat? I think pretty much everyone I knew growing up loved Lou's
As for pasties, my freezer is stocked with them since my H is a yooper. They're good, but the British ones are obviously better! (Mainly because of the variety)

I was a freaking PIG when we visited Rehoboth, and Inner Harbor. Real crab cakes, and soft pretzels stuffed with crab, and crab pizza, and crab this and that...
I need to live near the beach. I would single-handedly decimate the crab population.

A lot of these made me laugh. Colorado's is funny. I'm not sure if we really have a signature food. DH says green chile, but I feel like that's just stealing from NM.
eta: I've never actually heard of a Cowboy Cookie. And brisket for Texas is perfect. This Texas girl loves brisket.
Woah woah. I also don't agree with the author that Philadelphia is the worst place on earth and that w don't have good cheesesteaks here.
Pats and Genos are overrated crap but thee are plenty of other great options.
Agree 1000%. People ask me Pat's or Geno's and I always answer with, "Neither!"
YES! Like x1000
Tony Lukes is pretty good, or Gooey Louie's, or the one with the most racist name in the history of restaurants. We always take visitors to Jim's though- really good and you get the atmosphere of Philly. Meaning that its crowded and there's an 80% chance you'll see someone puke on South St.
Oregon = Marionberry Pie. I don't really like it but I like that Marionberry is a 5 syllable word.
Kentucky people- Burgoo? "People just bring whatever ingredients they can, and everybody puts what they've got into the stew, and out comes burgoo". This sounds like a drink at a college party or something. I am curious as to how and when this happens.

I have memories of being forced to eat a pasty. I've never really given them another shot after that. This is the same reason I won't eat the fried chicken at Frankenmuth. Stop forcing me to eat stuff I never wanted in the first place, Mom!
