So that black kitten I showed everyone?
Has an owner. Two houses down. She, along with her sister, live in the house and are let out during the day.
I feel bad for my son because he is in love with this cat! And this cat loves him too. We've heard her owner say "come eat and then you can go back over their house to play!"
There are also a few other cats in the area and they all belong to neighbors. I find this really strange. All cats I've had have been indoors.
Anyway, I've looked at pictures of cats at the shelter. I've also looked at dogs. I'm not sure why. I've had dogs growing up and never disliked them, just liked cats more. Maybe I feel like my last kitties can't be replaced, so I'm leaning towards a dog?
No one has tugged at my heart strings yet, but I'm casually looking.
We have two cats, but I had a dog while I was growing up and from time to time, I really do miss having one. They are a lot more work though.
ugh, yes they are. I debate about this, because I know it would be "my dog" and I'd be the one taking it on walks the majority of the time. But if I looked at one and fell in love, the extra work wouldn't stop me from getting a dog.
True, but he still talks too much. He got all butthurt last night when I carried him out of the room so I could work out. But getting licked in the face while doing push-ups is counter-productive.

He's trying to motivate you! A kiss for every pushup!

LOL, he was so sad and confused when I put him in with the kids last night. I felt really bad, but he was flinching at every move I made while working out (it was a kickboxing workout--I didn't want him to think I was kicking at him.
Dogs rule. I'm not sure they are more work. Cats can be a huge pain in the ass too. If you get the right kind of dog, it can work well with your lifestyle.
I vote that you visit kitties at the shelter and find one with whom you click.
It took me a long time to be ready to adopt after my last cat died because his illness was so traumatic. But now I have a loveable asshole of a cat and am so glad I do.
If you want a dog, get a dog too! I'm all about menageries, as long as all animals are well cared for and get along well enough with each other.
