I think it would be awesome if every now and then there would be whole magazine editions without photoshop and with minimal normal makeup, just to remind people that all these celebs/models who are put on a pedestal are just regular humans. I'm thinking particularly about the teenage girls I used to work with who constantly compared themselves to celebs. Sometimes we would look at pics of their idols without makeup, not in a mean way, but just so they could see. And they just felt so much relief, like "she is flawless with makeup but without, she has blemishes like me!" It was like they forgave themselves, though always temporarily of course.
Wow. Kathy Griffin looks like Martin short's snl synchronized swimming character.
You get in time-out for this.
I always marvel at Mila Kunis without makeup because she is consistently touted as one of the world's most beautiful women but sans make-up, eh, not so much.
Miranda Kerr looks adorable and Heidi Klum looks damn good.
BTW, these things always feed into my ever-optimistic belief that if I could just afford an awesome make-up artist, I, too, could look like a fucking rock star and be worshipped by Christian Bale and Tom Hiddleston.
Heidi and Miranda both look so much the same. lol. I guess that's why they are the models?
wow to kathy griffin. Faith Hill looks tired.
I definitely think makeup and photoshop go a long way to making these stars look the way they do. I mean I looked fabulous on my wedding day. thank you makeup artist and hair person and photographer. lol. Throw in a professional stylist etc and it can go a long way to making an ordinary person look gorgeous. I mean I know I am lone wolf on this board in this regard but I adore Jennifer Aniston and think she is gorgeous, but I also think without makeup IRL she is probably very very ordinary looking.
oh and along these lines - did anyone see the Vogue cover of Kate Winslet? talk about photoshop! after her reaction to the GQ cover a few years back, I bet she is going to be pissed.

I honestly could not recognize that second one as Faith Hill. Probably means too much spackle on the face regularly. At least all the other were just more tired versions of themselves.

I saw her at a Cheesecake Factory once and her skin is... not good. She had a good amount of breakouts and evidence of past breakouts. So yeah, don't get me wrong. She would certainly have been one of the cute/pretty girls in high school, but she didn't come across as gorgeous to me IRL.
Heidi looks much more German without the makeup. Miranda Kerr is so pretty. All the time pretty apparently.
Mila looks TIRED in that picture. But I think she's still cute...just imagine it with her eyes actually open and a smile.
Yeah, except that it looks like a red carpet/posed pic, so it's completely different from the others in that grouping imho. She probably has foundation on and other slight touches to give her that perfectly "natural" look.
A friend of mine knows Mila Kunis and says she is stunning in person. The most naturally gorgeous celebrity I have ever seen is Vanessa Williams. Just Wow. And Catherine Zeta Jones has a light shining down on her from above. Breathtaking.
And I agree- Natural makeup is NOT the same as no makeup. People magazine will do that - "Look! Stars w/o make up on!" and you can tell that `1- some do, and 2- they are still photoshopped.

I wonder if the photographers who caught Mila without makeup were trying to make her look bad b/c that first picture is really white compared to the other pictures from the same day. You don't think the tabloids would intentionally make her cheeks look chubbier and her face more ashen?
Either way, I'm guessing without the funny faces, that she looks great naturally. Some blemishes, but still above average. As for me, I don't wear make-up most days, but on days that I want to look more professional, I feel I have to. Weird that I do it for professional look and not to make myself feel good.
