I have an issue I'm hoping someone here can help me with. I have a yoga mat like this, www.gaiam.com/tree-of-wisdom-yoga-mat/05-60520.html?start=5&cgid=3010400 . When I get sweaty during yoga, my hands slip on the mat during certain poses. So I bought this,yogitoes.com/shop-by-collection/new-spice-collection/agave-rskidless . However I got it about a year ago, and these new skidless towels look different than the one I got. It works well if I'm nice and sweaty. The problem is, when I'm not sweaty, my hands and feet slip during certain poses. For example, my hands slip away from me in down dog. My feet slip away from me in warrior 1.
Anyway, does anyone have similar experiences? Solutions? Help?
Yogitoes recommends you bring a little spray bottle of water with you to mist the towel first. I never do but sometimes I just go without the towel until I am a bit sweaty.

Well damn. I should have read the directions better. Lol. I'll try this next time, thanks!

Ditto. Also focus on pressing your big toes down (engages the inner thighs more) and the outside (pinky toe to heel) of your back foot. A lot of people slide around in warrior because they aren't properly engaging their lower body.
All of this. I used to just pour a bit of water out of my bottle onto the towel where my hands and feet would go.
I saw this when I was pursuing their website a couple of days ago, it piqued my interested. Is it grippy if your hands are dry or sweaty?
I teach and this mat is the shit. I never ever slip and I'm often very sweaty. Money well spent. I buy everyone one for their birthday, I love it that much!

This (except I'm not teaching yet). I wound up right underneath the heater last night and was literally in a puddle of sweat - no slipping.
I figure that I spent about $100 on two Yogitoes towels and really needed to buy at least two more. For a little more than the cost of one towel, I was able to get a mat that never needs one. The only drawback to this mat is the upkeep. They told me not to clean it with the spray bottles provided at the studio, so I'll wipe it down with some water after class, then clean it again with a lemon water mixture when I get home, and lay it out overnight to dry. I also submerged it in a tub full of water w/a little baking soda when I first got it help get rid of the rubbery smell.
