N has to take antibiotics every day. We used one of those with her until they switched her to a powder. And the medicine was purplish/grape flavored, so we called it her sizzurp or purple drank.

lol nice! Sorry that she has to take meds everyday
H 's nephew learned to swallow pills when he was 5 or so, maybe younger. He's on a steroid that, when not taken orally, was stunting his growth.
It's fine. She has kidney issues, so the antibiotics are to prevent urinary tract infections. She may have corrective surgery in the next year or so, after which time we won't need any antibiotics at all (hopefully). I'm in no rush for that though, since the medicines haven't been an issue. They're just part of her normal routine at this point.
We actually switched to the powder when she got hip to the fact that I was only pretending to take the medicine before her. Lol. I got tired of having to take a small dose on my own before she would do it.
We used the mini-bottle for Tylenol for the first 10 months or so, and it was the easiest thing in the world. Way easier than using the syringe to take Tylenol. Now that we do ibuprofen instead, she takes that like a dream since it tastes so good.

what flavor tylenol? We only have grape or berry flavored meds in our house.

I think the berry one? Whatever the red one is. She just started refusing it out of the blue one day. Then she got sick with a super high fever, and we did alternated Motrin and Tylenol, and she's preferred the (berry I think) Motrin ever since. We use the syringe for the motrin since its a much smaller amount than the Tylenol.
But the mini bottle was the best. She'd hold it and drink it while I did a diaper change or whatever. Sometimes I'd just give her the bottle empty to distract her while I did diaper changes/getting ready for bed.

This seems way easier than my method of cutting the tip of a pacifier and putting the meds in there. Or maybe I'm a genius and should've patented that idea sooner...
