A coworker just stopped by and we had the whole "how are you feeling?" conversation. He has 3 sets of twin grandchildren (OMG) and is a nurse, so he's always been especially considerate and kind in regards to my pregnancy.
But today as he was walking away, he said, "just think, in a few months if everything goes well, you'll have a a boy AND a girl!"
Right? I'm hoping he didn't mean it in a "as long as one or both of your babies doesn't DIE!" kind of way, but...
I'm feeling pretty good. Starting to feel big and really tired, but I don't have too much to complain about. I'm definitely feeling better than I did with my daughter by this point, which is amazing to me.

I know how you feel. I'm only 7 weeks so really the only people that know are various doctors. The doctors are all, " fingers crossed, you just have to get to 12 weeks!" Thanks, I am aware that stuff can happen, but why do we have to pretend the first 3 months don't count?
Julez, he just meant that he wants those babies to come in 2 months instead of 7 weeks.
Oh.
See? This is a distinct possibility. But my worrywart brain heard, from a nurse, "DEAD BABIES!"
I might have a tendency towards the dramatic.
I took it as he was hoping they stayed in as long as possible too as opposed to him being worried you'll have some sort of major complication. Especially if he's been considerate in the past. I think it was just a really bad choice of words that were easy to misinterpret.

I also vote poor word choice on his part and I don't think he meant something bad would happen to one of your babies. But I get it - my mind would probably go there too.
That's great you're feeling so well though!
Also, ninjabridemom - I would die of happiness if my Dr told me to stop commuting. I've got two more weeks of work left and it's stressing me the fuck out. I barely have the energy to concentrate, much less deal with all the work being piled up on me.
