last week i saved $100.37 at publix (shopping bogo deals and using coupons).
today i saved $132.54.
and i just bought these coupon books that have four $5/30 for winn dixie coupons in them that publix will honor (since they are considered a competitor in our area). i ordered 5 books for $60, but they were running a special where they would multiply your order by five if you ordered five books. so i have $500 worth of coupons toward my total grocery bill that I only paid $60 for.
i'm a little embarrassed while simultaneously being really proud.
That is awesome. Those coupon shows always fascinate me. I don't know that I have ever used a coupon, but I would love to get the savings. Totally worth it. Where did you get the book?
apalettepassion.wordpress.com/ WHO IS BONQUIQUI!?!?!?!??!
"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
That's awesome!! My grandma is great at coupons and always sends them to me. I forget to use them every time. I need to do better. It's like free money!
I never find stuff that I can use coupons for, damn it.
i am starting to figure out how to do it by following iheartpublix.com
she posts their weekly ad and then a bunch of associated coupons for it.
i should say that the thing i bought were mostly non-perishables today.
ex: campbell's soup if currently 10/$10. i had two $1/3 coupons and another $1/2 coupon, so i paid $7 for 10 cans of soup that i will use over the course of the next few months.
last week publix had buy one get one on their chicken breasts, and i had a target coupon for $2.5 off two at target (that my publix accepts as a competitor) so i got $20 worth of chicken breast for about $7.
my actual coupons today totaled about $50. the rest were the discounts and bogo from publix.
BUT! it is for sure something that becomes easier the more you do it. i am still putting in about two to three hours each week finding the best deals and coupons and things, but its totally worth it.

I love the thrill of a good deal!
I don't coupon anymore, but one day I'll be able to spend the time on it again.

I (heart) using coupons. I use them for personal care products (deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, etc.) and I end up getting them free or for only a few pennies.
I don't spend hours on it though. On Sunday I look at the sales flyers. If something is on sale, like a 10 for $10 sale, I just go to ebay and buy coupons for those particular items. My store doubles the coupons and BOOM! FREE (or almost free) STUFF.
Disclaimer: I don't buy 50 sticks of deodorant at a time like I'm playing SuperMarket Sweep. I try and limit it to 10 items.
I never find stuff that I can use coupons for, damn it.
This is me. Nothing I buy regularly has coupons and it would defeat the purpose to buy extra stuff just cuz I could get it a bit cheaper. *sad trombone*
I just bought a gift for a friend off her registry.
It was a significant amount.
S/H was $17, which is just so annoying, given the amount of places that gives you free shipping if item is over $100 (which this was).
So I randomly googled to see if there was a coupon I could use.
THERE WAS.
FFS, why wouldn't you automatically add that, Williams Sonoma? Seriously, it makes me NOT want to frequent you if you were banking on me not using the fucking code.
I like safeway, where they say things like "you saved 39.26 by using your safeway card". Makes me think that I used coupons and was thrifty but did no work to achieve it. Nice savings on your part, though!
