I also have large boobs, and always feel like I'm exposing too much cleavage at work. But the alternative is this large expanse of boobs covered in cloth.
Matching. They say things don't need to match, they need to go. I don't know what that means. I bought red pumps but I'm too scared to wear them with anything other than black. I'm afraid I'll look like a fool.
Taking risks at all, really. I have two fears: (1) looking like an idiot, and (2) looking like I'm trying too hard.
In a somewhat similar vein, there's a delicate balance between looking pulled together and looking TOO pulled together, and in small part because I'm afraid of looking too pulled together I tend to not look pulled together at all.
There are other things I avoid (browns/creams/etc.) but that's because I know they look awful on me, and not because I am scared of them.
Matching things perfectly. Like noodleoo said, I don't take enough risk with mixing things up. I stick within the comfort zone of neutrals. I have tried to branch out and bought a cobalt blue pencil skirt. I'd like to carry it through to the fall/winter but what color tights do I wear?
Also, I hate to wear tights and end up with a muffin top.

Hats. I have a Panama hat. I think people look adorable in Panama hats. I have never worn my hat in "real life," only on vacation in Cuba where I got it. H swears it looks good, but I think I would look like a tool walking around Santiago in a hat even though other people doing the same thing does not strike me as tool-ish!

Dressing for my large frame. I see clothes that I love on the hanger, but I know they wouldn't look good on me. I love some fashion trends like the leggings, dress with boots but my calves are large and I've never purchased leggings before.
Skinny jeans also scare me. I like having a little flare at the bottom.
I also have large boobs, and always feel like I'm exposing too much cleavage at work. But the alternative is this large expanse of boobs covered in cloth.
Anything out of my typical "uniform" of black/gray pants, black heels, and jewel colored top makes me nervous.
I've tried to embrace dresses more, but I hate shaving my legs in the cold weather
Other things I can't pull off: moto jackets (I'm not edgy, I don't ride a moto, will I look like a poser?) statement earrings (i feel like i'm in a glamour shot) scarves (im hot blooded and uncomfortable in them indoors, plus they add bulk)
Oh, another one: being perceived as a person who wears the same outfit all the time.
And really, there's nothing wrong with that. My chicest friends wear the same things all the time, and for years, and they look great because they're wearing really great pieces that suit them. They aren't American though. I think it is an American thing to need new new new all the time? Or at least I swear I read that in an article about why French women are way better at being sophisticated than we are.
Oh, belts. I own a few skinny belts, but they came with dresses. The only belt I own is a black/brown reversible one.
Belts! OMG they terrify me.
I recently got over my fear of tucking shirts in. I don't think I tucked a shirt in for a good 10 years until a few months ago. I was convinced tucking things in made me look fatter. I binge watched What Not to Wear this summer though, and I think I might get it now. So now that you can see the belt line in some of my outfits, I feel like I have to master belts, and I just cannot figure them out. And the whole belt over a shirt or dress look? Yeah, I have no idea what to do about that.
I try to read online about how to wear belts, but they all talk about things like "put them on your natural waist", but never tell me where the fuck that is.

Gray, navy and certain shades of khaki should look fab with red pumps.

For me it's wearing camel color close to my face (washes me out), belts, blouses with tied necks, peasant style stuff, camel toe, cellulite show through.

I just came back to this thread to say that I have a fear of tucking things in. I feel like it draws attention to my hips/waist which I think is wide and doesn't need to be made wider. I did tuck a blouse into my skirt last week. At first it was not on purpose, then I realized that it made my outfit look much nicer, so I stuck with it. I wish I could do this with pants though.

Oh tights. They also cause me anxiety. I can handle black tights, black shoes (that's what I'd wear with a cobalt skirt), but I would love to wear other colors, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it without looking like Punky Brewster.

Sign me up for belts too. I feel like a basic medium-thick black belt is actually really hard to find. And I have a few "fashion" belts but never think to wear them, and when I do pull them out I feel like they're just awkward. I should remember to include belts in my next personal shopping appointment, clearly I need professional help.

That is my default - black tights. And black shoes. But then if we're being honest here, all I own are black (work appropriate) shoes. I have a pair of Sperry's that are silver/platinum (that I am actually wearing to work today) and then my running shoes are fun colors. That's all I've got.
