The oly time we were out of the country together was in our Honeymoon. We went to the Candian side of Niagra Falls and that was before you had to have a passport to go between US and Canada.
H keeps looking up international trips on Groupon and Living Social. Scotland, Ireland, Japan, etc. He keeps finding them and suggesting we buy them. Sounds great, except that neither of us has a passport. Whenever I suggest we go get one he responds with "Why? What do we need passports for?"
I explain it is a 'just in case' we decide we want to travel internationally, which I would love to do and he apparently has some interest since he is looking for and suggesting these trips...
I just shake my head at him, I will drag him to get one by the end of the year. Its my new goal.

Do it! Then you can certainly start taking the international trips more seriously, and I strongly suggest that you go as far as you can if you have the means. There might be a day when you can't go long distances (it can be physically or financially difficult) so I always encourage younger folks to travel abroad as much as they can; you just never know what will happen in the future so live for today!
But, yes I fully intend too. We are relatively young, are both gainfully employeed, no debt (except mortgage), no kids, not living high on the hog but definately comfortable. I agree that now is the time to do it.
We have our vacations planned and booked for the rest of this and next year but after that, I want to go international!

I'm not quite 80, but being over 30, some might consider me "old".
Seriously, though, when I was a teen, my grandmother (who's dead now) gave me the small piece of advice that I take to heart to this day: Travel the world while you are young and able, you will likely have time to travel your own country as you get older and are less tolerant of flight procedures and long travel schedules.
She spent the last 30 years of her life in a wheelchair after breaking her hip, and let's just say her days of traveling were limited after that. Even with handicap accessability, she gave up on ever wanting to fly anywhere after that also in case of a health issue.

I just want to DITTO everything OPS said!
Traveling abroad has been the best experience of my life. It's truly eye opening. DH and I have been bitten by the travel bug the last few years and save like crazy so we can aim for one international trip a year. It's been amazing! I really believe in seizing the moment instead of putting it off until a later date because lie OPS's wise grandmother said, you never know if you'll be able to in the future.
I give a *thumbs up* to your goal... Even if you don't have a trip planned, tell your H it's worth it to go ahead and get the passports. Then, you'll be ready when the time comes and if you ever want you can book another trip on a whim.
