I got to work before 7am this morning so I can leave early, my office is really close to Fenway Park. It was so freaking dark out and my Starbucks wasn't event open yet
I found out yesterday I didn't get the promotion I was going for....a night of too much Chardonnay followed. Ugh. Prepared to move on today and try to forget about it.

I really need people to stop posting in either of the threads about lasagna because now I just really want lasagna. Like, right this second, in my belly, not that I want to spend time to make or otherwise acquire some.
vtdiamond, I hope our office lets us out early today. I heard on the news last night that they were recommending offices let people go home early to help ease traffic, but I have a feeling it's going to be a shit show all day. On a better note, the office let us wear Red Sox gear today
We're getting released at 3, I hope the Sox win it tonight so we can be done with all the craziness. My employer as well is allowing employees to wear red sox gear.

Blessed, sounds really scary but I had to laugh at the part where you went to the ATM. That is so something I would have done and later wondered what I was thinking.
My random is to top off a rather bad week our furnace guy came by yesterday for an annual cleaning and told us he wouldn't bother we need a new one. We have known for a couple of years it wasn't going to last long but this was not what I wanted to hear.
ETA I will just be an AW and stick this here. I won tickets to the Red Sox late summer in a blood donation contest and got to go down to the feild and have my picture with Wally
@blessed - that sounds terrifying. Lol that you went to the ATM anyway. Stay safe and come home soon!
I'm going to sound like a broken record, but I'm really smitten with this new guy I'm seeing. Or whatever you want to call it. We're hanging out again tonight (third time since Friday) and I can't wait to see him.
I had met a guy through bow hunting. We talked occasional, always about bow hunting. Had hung out once. I needed to wax my bow and he offered to come over and show me how. Not exactly sure how it happened, but we slept together. Best sex of my life. He thought we were then dating. He asked me to buy him a $900 bow to prove to him I was serious about him. He even suggested I put it on a CC. Haha. I told him to go to hell.
In other news I'm considering converting and becoming nun. That's assuming I can find an order that allows drinking.

Glad you had a good time with the guy, but sorry he turned out to be a dud.
Re: nuns, I went to a Catholic high school run by nuns and all they DID was drink.

This is one thing I don't miss about Boston -- how insane the city gets when the sports teams do well OR lose. I lived next to Kenmore Square for a couple of years, and it seemed like people would riot no matter whether the teams won or lost. There was one point where I retreated into my walk-in closet with earplugs to try to sleep because it was 3am and the noise level outside was still insane from the sports-related carousing. (Insert obligatory "get off my lawn!")

We had a late work dinner with friends last night so I was already going to bed late then MH had to wake up at 5 am to catch a train to Boston for a work mtg and I couldn't go back to sleep so I am very cranky today. This is the third consecutive night I've slept poorly.

That's really cool! Fenway is such an awesome park, and Wally is cute ... I *love* that ESPN commercial where he gets upset when he thinks David Ortiz joins the Yankees: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0iR05lYy1g
I really hope the Sox win tonight. It's bittersweet not to have my dad here to see them in the World Series, but I'm so grateful that he was feeling well in 2004 and in 2007 too. I would've been an absolute mess if this had turned out to be the year that they broke the streak.
I needed to wax my bow and he offered to come over and show me how.
This sounds like the beginning of a porno. LOL
I read that as "wax my bRow," and I was really confused as to what the hell kind of porno you watch, hee.
I hope the Sox win tonight because I am tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiired. Even when I don't stay up for the games, my husband does, and then he wakes me up when he eventually goes to bed at like 1 am. Also, I am tired of listening to Buck and McCarver. My friends and I had a great FB exchange the other night about how old Wacha is, and how many languages Xander Bogaerts speaks, and does he speak French? thanks to how often they repeat the same thing.
I came *thisclose* to spitting out my coffee when I read this. LOL.
I had the same thought and snickered when I read this. Then DH asked why and trying to explain it made him really curious what kind of website I was looking at.....
I am supposed to get the contract job offer today that I posted about the other day and waiting is killing me. I am 99% sure they will meet my salary needs but I am worried still. Today is going to drag on until they call I can tell.

WTF? At least you're getting some good stories! I don't know why you're meeting such weirdos. You seem normal so I don't get it.

This is really random, but when they put the seats on the green monster, my dad was the crane operator. Even though I have not been to Fenway since way before then, I feel oddly connected to it.
@blessed, glad you are okay. @ruralrabbit1, I love your post marriage dating stories. They make me smile. Sorry the guy turned out to be weird.

Thanks. I have met some nice normal ones, I just don't tend to post about them.
So glad your liking the new guy and things are going well.
I should be exempt from irritating meetings at this point. JFC. It obviously doesn't affect me at this point in any way, shape or form, but the disfunction and pettiness around here is astounding.
Today I'm happy because I got to have breakfast with my sister, who lives across country and I don't see very often. It was unexpected because she had to travel to my town last minute to take care of some business and she surprised me with her visit.
I'm also a little bit nervous because today DH has his appointment with the cardiologist. I know it's not a big deal (his health issue) but I'm worried anyway.
My boss' boss has been out on an extended leave of absence dealing with family and health issues. I thought that perhaps he or his partner had cancer or something. Today he joined a meeting via the phone and announced that he'd been in an inpatient facility for alcoholism and that he's returning in 2 weeks. I am glad he's coming back and got the help he needed. But call me shocked.
