Gift ideas for 4 year old boy

Does anyone have any favorites toys or books for a 4 year old boy? My nephews birthday is coming up but I'm not super familiar with what's age appropriate and he's on the other side of the country so I can't see what he uses currently.

I do know he loves construction, tools, electricity (plugs, light switches, fans, etc.). I got him a mini shop vac last year that he loves.

Any ideas?

I'm getting my four-year-old nephew Tinker Toys for Christmas. You can get a big starter set (100 pcs) on Amazon for about $25. If your nephew is into construction, I bet they'd be a big hit!

Superheroes anything, Imaginext toys, play doh, games (don't break the ice, ants in the pants, don't spill the beans, memory, etc.).

ETA:  My four year old loves trains, Cars, and Planes (both Disney), and puzzles and books.

My 4 year old son likes the Sneaky Snacky Squirrel and Sequence Jr games, rescue bots transformers, switch and go dinos, puzzles, Lego kits and anything Jake and the Neverland pirates.

All the 4 year olds I know are very into Thomas trains and Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

If your still looking, my 4 year old boy loves snap circuits. We have the $30.00 one, I think it is 100. He needs a little help, but can do a lot of them on his own.
