I have it apparently. My previously anterior placenta has moved in the wrong direction. It is a partial, and my cervix is tunneling at the top. I knew I was having a lot more pain, contractions, and pressure than what I thought was normal, so glad I know why now. So now I am hoping that it continues to move in the opposite direction in the next few months. I really would like to avoid scary spells of bleeding, bed rest, and a C/S.
Hopefully it resolves itself soon. Mine is close to my cervix, they are keeping an eye in it at my midwife office and hopefully it moves up and out of the way.
Yes, pelvic rest. Plus my coworkers are totally babying me and saying I am no longer allowed to move any pts or anything heavy at all, they don't want me to end up a pt before I need to. Lol, so I am thankful for them watching out for me.
Honestly, I won't say its rare but most anterior placentas go up as the uterus grows, even most early previas or low-lying placentas resolve themselves as the uterus grows. We are now joking that this is the nurse curse, because it's such a weird thing that my anterior placenta went the wrong way.
And yes, I am definitely glad we found it because I know I won't completely freak out if I start bleeding. And I can start to hope for the best, but plan for worst.
I have seen it twice. One we knew about prior (found on the US) and one was after the delivery. Both turned out fine. Do you have one or are you just concerned about one?
I am just concerned about it in general. I am pregnant a little less than 3 months since my c-section, and I have an anterior placenta. I have convinced myself that it is going to attach to the scar tissue since I got pregnant so soon.
We had a girl who had this recently, it is the only one I have ever seen. The doctors refused to label it accreta. I don't know why. She had bleeding like previa, stayed with us on bed rest. Bleeding stopped, she got steroids, went home on bed rest and they did the c-section at 36 weeks with no complications. I won't tell you it is impossible, because honestly in this field nothing is. But unless your doctor has some legitimate concerns, I would try my best not to worry about it. If it happens, it happens and it is completely manageable.

How are you doing now? I also have placenta previa. The hubby isn't too fond of the pelvic rest, and I suck at the whole resting thing but it is what it is!
So far, so good. No bleeding yet. I have had two negative fetal fibrinectins, which my doc wants to do every two weeks. We looked three weeks ago to see where the placenta was and we will look again at my appt next Thursday. I have been taking it very easy and been very cautious.
I am still very hopeful that I can avoid a c-section. If that is the best option, I will deal. But I feel like my anxiety will be through the roof considering I have anxiety issues already and am regularly on the other side of the drape. I know too much detail about they would be doing.
I know this is an old thread, but I got the news I have this at my appointment this morning, hoping everyone in here is going well and hopefully everyone's position will change for the better soon!
Well four weeks later, and it is still in the way. Hasn't really budged. He still hasn't ruled out vaginal since it is an anterior marginal vs posterior marginal, but we will look again in two weeks. I am running out of time for this stupid thing to move.
