My H just got pulled over for going 28 in a 25 and got a ticket. I'm like, seriously? This sucks. Not only will we have to pay the ticket, but our insurance rates will probably go up. What an awesome way to start a Monday, huh?
Wow, someone is a go-getter! Giving out minor tickets at the beginning of the month. I had a ticket for much worse than this (I think 63 in a 45), and I just had to pay for and attend a class for safe driving. Totally sucked, but it kept points from going on my license.
Around here, if you plead not guilty they'll knock it down. I had my first speeding ticket in years, and it was way more than 3 miles above the speed limit, and they knocked it down to a parking ticket. I had a bigger fine, but no points on my license and no impact on my insurance.
Yeah we are going to look into fighting it. If not, we definitely want to try to get it expunged from his record by taking that class. I know he was technically in the wrong by speeding, but it sucks. It was two blocks from our house. And I thought maybe only going 3 over it would be a cheaper fine; nope $120 regardless.
