I'm abstaining from voting because I haven't been following the discussion and don't know anything about these charities (and I'm too lazy to go looking them up) but I'm in for whichever you guys choose. I'd rather send an actual gift than money though.

Ditto this for me. Except for the money part-  I am truly lazy so money works best.

I don't know - I guess it depends on #s. We all have our own things we do as well. I don't want to end up taking on too much and then it falls short; epic angel tree thread last year was pretty telling.

For those who weren't around at the time, the lessons I came away from that that thread with were: don't give generic and don't be stingy; i.e. get crayola crayons instead of rose art.

ETA: I'm just trying to keep this moving forward and organized. Majority rules. If there's enough participation to do more than one, great, we'll go with the two choices with the most votes. If not, we'll just go with one.

I voted but really I'm okay with any of these options. I like the idea of doing a specific family so CO or HI sounds good to me but I think any of the choices would be great.

To add to this (probably too late) my org that I mentioned works with a teen homeless shelter. I would include those kids in the giving list.
