I need some help with my living room lamp shades. We have 2 older black lamp shades, that I'm over. Here's a picture of one.
I'm working on incorporating some color into our very brown room. I decided on green. I bought a green lamp shade, along with green curtains. However, I feel like the lamp shade blends into the wall too much.
(I left the plastic on it - since I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it)
What do you think? Should I go back to the black and just buy a new one? Or do you like that one? Or something else entirely?
Are you open to replacing the entire lamp? It seems like a dinky lamp. You need some OOMPH in that space.
I agree with this actually.
I'm not against a different lamp, haha. Do you have any pics of examples I could use? I feel like a bigger lamp would take over the table. But it is a good sized end table, so maybe that's a good idea! I just need suggestions.
You can always browse Goodwill and other thrift stores to find a ceramic lamp and spray paint it. Look at the shape, not the color, and make sure it works. Paint and a new shade can be inexpensive. I would either go with white or tan for the shade to optimize the light you get from the lamp (I had black shades on my bedroom lamps and switching to white made a big difference re: light output) and do a green on the ceramic portion.
