Ugh, Last Minute Cancellation..

DH invited 5 of his friends over for a dinner party tomorrow. These are friends that we haven't seen in a few years. One guy couldn't make it because he was out of town, and the other 4 were supposed to come over. One guy just cancelled giving a vague "Sorry, something has come up". I am so annoyed. I HATE HATE HATE it when people cancel at the last minute.

He even mentioned yesterday that he was bringing a date and dessert. So it feels like something better came up at the last minute so he is blowing us off.

I am making Gougères, baked Brie and goat cheese for appetizers. Lamb ragu with mint, salad and garlic bread for entrée. Assorted mini mousse cakes for dessert.

One of DH's friends is an ex bartender, so he is bringing his fancy scotch and liquors for a tasting.
