It is the first weekend in about three months where I have NOTHING planned. Not a damn thing. I don't have to get out of my pajamas if I don't want to. All I am obligated to do is feed and keep my child entertained. And that's all I plan to do. I didn't really realize how exhausted I was until this week, I haven't had any time to relax or take a whole day just for me.
On another topic, I opened up our bank account online this morning to make sure we got paid (last payroll was my nightmare payroll from hell where our payroll company fucked up and no one got paid), and my H's check was almost nothing. They shorted him NINETEEN hours of overtime. All his deductions came out, so the check was incredibly low. I almost fainted. We're pretty paycheck to paycheck, so it's a nasty blow to the bank account. He works for a pretty big national company, and for some reason, they screw up his paychecks probably once every other month. I do payroll for a living - so as a payroll person, I'm very WTF about their processes and how they continually mess up the same person's checks so often.
Usually they tell him it'd be on the next paycheck (which, this paycheck was supposed to include eight hours they forgot LAST time and they forgot to do), but I told him to fight back and tell them hell no, we have bills to pay that we can't without all that missing pay. They're supposedly mailing him a check. Which, if that goes the way it did last time, we might as well wait until next payroll. I'm pretty pissed.
Congrats on your lazy weekend - I had the same last weekend and it was the most beautiful Saturday and Sunday ever. MIL found out we 'did nothing' on Monday and was all upset since she could have had us over for dinner. Not a chance.
I am working 14 hour days Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Shoot me now.
I am pretty sure they can't do that. I would be a super squeaky wheel on this that is bullshit.
I am super jealous you have nothing to do. Having a new baby makes everyone want to visit which is awesome when it is my mom who will throw in some dishes and a load of laundry in exchange for some baby snuggles and less awesome when it is my in laws who just want to hold the baby for four hours and be waited on while they do it.
Just wanted to also add to ENJOY your weekend!! As much as this paycheck debacle sucks, @ least it'll help provide even further encouragement for total do-nothing-laziness...??

What? This is all kinds of messed up. We would send a check out same day of we could, depending on if ups already came.
Do your state's payroll laws say anything about when wages must be paid? Generally it is on the next posted payday, not two weeks later when they've managed to pull their heads out of their asses and send a (likely incorrect) check. And the prior missing OT, at this point some regulation surely is being missed.
Yep, we do too. Funny, too - my H's company can't seem to get a check cut and sent within a week, but I can get a check cut and overnighted to our Canada payroll employees the dah i find out about any issues. You might remember two weeks ago today I was working a ridiculously long day fixing missing pay due to our payroll company's mistake.
He did raise hell though and complained to HR about the numerous payroll errors he's encountered. I hope they take it seriously. I know they have a lot of paycheck to paycheck employees (they don't exactly pay the best wages in the business), I would venture to guess if they've screwed up my H's checks as much as they have, they must be messing up others' as well.

Most definitely!!
Unfortunately though, my mom called completely freaking out. She is incredibly anxious and nervous - she and my dad are going on vacation tomorrow. It will be her first time flying. She has had a crippling fear of flying as long as I can remember. So she's all set and packed, nervous as hell, and noticed one of their cats has blood in their urine about two hours ago. So now I am bringing their cat to the vet tomorrow. I don't mind though, since it'll help pit her mind at ease!
