Sticking with the makeup questions. What's a good foundation? My skin is dry/normal with a couple of red/dark spots. I don't wear a ton of makeup but definitely need to (want to) start wearing more. It can't cost a ton! Thank you.
I have dry skin, and my most favorite is Nars Sheer Glow. I use a primer underneath to reduce redness, smashbox color correcting, and it is fabulous. I love the light natural look of this foundation. It literally feels like I am not wearing any, and it gives a pretty dewy look.

I'm a Tarte amazon foundation fan as well. At first, I didn't like it but as I got better with the brush, I love it. It is buildable and it is best to play and practice with it. Just put tiny amounts on the back of your hand, swirl the brush in it and swirl and brush all over face. Add more as you need it - do the whole face before going back. I found outward strokes work best on my face.
It's kind of pricey, but my skin looks fabulous so it's worth every penny. I started using Tarte's Amazonian Clay foundation, it lasts all day and a little goes a long way.
