When I first got my ring (7 years ago) the little side stone popped out every once in a while. The jeweler explained that over time, the bottom of the band flattened ever so slightly (from regular wear and tear) and that made the side setting shift just enough for the side stone to pop out. He suggested that we solder the ring and my wedding band together to strengthen them, so we did. And it didn't happen again...until last week.
I put my ring on in the AM and I remember looking at it and being all sentimental b/c it was our anniversary. The ring was fine. 2 hours later, I look at it and notice a gaping hole on the side. Not only did the SAME FUCKING side chip pop out, but the surrounding stones did to, leaving a break in the band. I'm so upset. We're going to the jeweler tomorrow and we'll see what he says.

Ugh, hopefully it's an easy fix. I have a micro-pave band and have lost a teeny stone 2 or 3 times. My jeweler has always fixed and replaced the stones for free. I hope yours will too!

He always did when it happened before, so we'll see.
Hope he can fix it. I am going to pick up my bands this afternoon from the jeweler. Each band had a diamond chipped so they had to fix them. They have never mentioned rings flattening nor suggested soldering. I have had to have a stone replaced in my engagement ring before as well.
