anyone have these? any of them crap? other recommendations? i can't justify spending $$$ on a new diaper bag just to replace my old one because it pissed me off. not that these are cheap, but they aren't, say, the kate spade stevie which is what i want now. lol.
i can't figure out what's going on with the changing pad. do you have to unzip it from the bag to use it every time? that would drive me up a tree.
hell, i know what i'm going to do. i'm going to order like 3 with free shipping from amazon and then test them all out at home.
It is kind of hard to describe but basically when you lift up the top there is the main part and then on the front a zipper on either side which makes the changing pad fold down. It also velcros to the bag so you can disconnect it to wash it. I don't think it is hard to use but I also don't have a ton of diaper bag experience.

it's one of the ones i ordered, so i'll check it out.
see, i like a separate changing pad for public restrooms. since it's not like i'm going to prop up the bag ON the changing table. that takes up too much real estate, especially as babies grow.

Buy the KS stevie.
signed, a complete sucker for KS
No really, my friend had that bag, and used it as a purse for a couple years before she had a baby. It was really great, and held up great post-baby as well. I had another style of KS diaper bag and that thing was indestructible.
Then buy one of those diaper/wipes envelope thingy's (which often double as a changing pad)
Then a wet bag to store a change of clothes and stash the wet/soiled ones in.
JUST SAY NO TO DIAPER BAGS!
Since you and I have the exact same taste, can you pick out a tote for me? I am overwhelmed. TIA! Lol
I saw some great ones at TJ Maxx a few days ago!
I favored ones that were not too structured - the one I used the most with N was a leather one from Banana, I think they still sell a version of it. It meant I could squish is under strollers and airplane seats and anywhere in my car. I just sprayed it with scotch guard before use. I also had a black nylon one from Banana with a thick leather handle.
And for anyone else creeping on this post, here is what you put inside:
A large wet bag (aka zippered pouch that's lined with waterproof fabric/plastic on the inside). You keep a clean change of clothes. When your baby has a poop explosion, you take out the clean clothes and put the poop clothes inside.
Diaper case. You can get these just to hold diapers, but some come in an envelope style so they unfold into a changing pad. OR, just do another wet bag, which should fit 4 newborn diapers, 3-4 disposable changing pads (my preference for use in public restrooms) and a travel side pack of wipes.
Also, ALWAYS carry 1-2 gallon size zip lock bags with you. Just fold them up and stash them in a side pocket. You never know.
Done and done people.
(and yes, I'm clearly not the go-to person for environmentally friendly diapering advice. Anything poop may touch, I want to be able to throw it away vs. stick it in my washer.)
I also like my method because it means I don't need to haul my diaper bag with me for quick trips out - just grab the diaper holder and/or the wet bag. This is handy when travelling...leave the stroller/tote with your husband and just pick up your kid with the diaper holder.
Yeah, I am looking at the skip hop pronto for the diaper holder/changing pad kit. I always kept those munchkin bags for dirty diapers, dirty clothes, etc...
