I need rec's for a photo album. I never did get a photo album from our photographer (he wanted ridiculous $$$). I am looking for something like maybe leather or something for the cover. I want something that will last and that I can lay out pretty easily. Does anyone know of a good service for this?
I've done quite a few books through Shutterfly and really love their quality. The interface is good, lots of options for layouts or complete control, they have lots of cover/upgrade options, they always have sales going on and their customer service is top notch.
I've only ever had one issue with a book I printed - a page was black and white when it should have been in color. I emailed them, they told me they would make it right, no problem, and I literally had the new, perfect book on my doorstep the next day.
I made some wedding albums on Shutterfly for parents and ILs, and it was really easy and not too expensive. They turned out great :-) I highly recommend it.
I really like using Picaboo. Lots of great layouts to choose from as well. Also - most places should start having sales pretty soon on books due to the holidays. Enjoy!
I second Shutterfly. I really like their albums, I pretty much make one after very vacation. Their online design tool is very easy to use once you get the hang of it. They recently introduced very high quality albums that are close to what our wedding photographer did and MUCH cheaper. (Maybe $99 or $199, I forget, but really nice if you are looking for a higher end album).
I have also wanted to try Adoramapix. They have very nice albums too and my H really likes the quality of their prints. I keep meaning to try them, but I'm just so used to using Shutterfly. Shutterfly runs a lot of sales on photo books too, so keep and eye out for that.
Have fun! I love making photo albums! So much fun!
I've used Shutterfly several times and made wedding albums for our parents. The quality was great and the process was pretty easy. Plus, they usually have promos going on that you can take advantage of, especially around the holidays.

I love Mixbook and Shutterfly. Mixbook always have coupons and they have templates for any theme. They have a 40% off coupon right now (NOVMX at checkout).

I've used Shutterfly many times, and really like it. It's very easy, user friendly, and the quality is great. I recently used Picaboo (had a Groupon) and I found it much harder to use. It did not seem as user friendly, not as many choices for pages/backgrounds, and it took me forever!
