Do you have any tips, warnings, or suggestions about how you eased back into higher impact exercise?
I had a breast reduction on 10/8, and I'm guessing/hoping that next week my surgeon will remove the steri-strips and give the all-clear to exercise again. I was wearing a 34 F/G; right now I'm still swollen and measuring around a D-DD, hoping to end up a C or D once everything really heals over the next 6-12mos. Before surgery I was able to run a 5k and doing TurboFire workouts, but it's been 6wks of mandatory sitting on my tush; even walking the mall a week ago made my incisions sore. In my mind, I picture myself doing gentle yoga and walking for 1-2wks, shifting into vinyasa work for a week or two, then starting either a running training program or higher impact exercise routine. Does that sound realistic? I'm debating between prepping for a HM in May, versus just focusing on TF for 5mos and getting through the advanced section. I'm really hoping that I will notice a nice difference between before and now, and that running will be a bit easier once I get conditioned again.
Take it easy.....take it easy! I had a BR in 1999. 40DD to a 40B. BESTTHINGIEVERDIDFORMYSELF (yes,...even better than the FTT). You are only 4 weeks out. Of course you are going to be sore. Listen to what your doctor says and go very slowly. You are not truly healed for months even when you are feeling better. I think your two week transition is a bit too fast. I'd wait til I was at least 10-12 weeks post op before starting harder exercise. Of course, follow your doctor's advice since he knows how you are recovering. It's better to go slower and not have complications than push it too soon and have problems. The 'Girls' will no longer be flopping around despite 2 bras. Enjoy cute new bras, too! Welcome to the IBTC!
My plastic surgeon gave me the best advice ever given to me by a doctor. If it hurts, don't do it.

Totally agree with sadlebred, BR changed my life!!!!! Important stuff! But I couldn't work out for about two months, listen to your body and your doctor. You will have many years of exercise, you need to recover.
